9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do
not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may
be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
10 Love does no harm to its neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilment of
the law.” (Romans 13:9-10)
We will learn to love if we will understand how much God has loved and
forgiven us (1John 4:19; Luke 7:47). The following lessons aim to help you
experience lasting life change through mind renewal (Romans 12:1-2):

* DO YOU WANT TO ALWAYS
BE WITH GOD WHO REIGNS?
If so, admit that YOU HAVE SINNED:
• “...Do not lie....” 2 Did you say, 'I don't have it', when
you had it with you? Have you told others 'Tell him I
am not here!' Have you said, “I do not have/feel it,”
when you had it?
Indeed, the fact that the guards told that the body was stolen was an
evidence that it was no longer in the grave. The folded burial cloth on His
head, the large stone raised up and the broken zeal are evidences that
the body was not stolen by fearful disciples. The hardened linen
wrappings without the corpse and Jesus' appearances to many
witnesses (John 20:10-19; 1Corinthians 15:3-8) are evidences that he
indeed rose from the dead!
Jesus’ ability to pass through physical objects was also witnessed by
Thomas - one who initially doubted (John 20:24-25). ‘26A week later….
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,
“Peace be with you!” 27Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see
my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and
believe.” 28Thomas said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:26-28).
Some say that Thomas just surprised. Do you agree? ______.
If he was just surpised, Jesus could have rebuked him for using the name
of God in vain (Exodus 20:7). Instead, ‘... Jesus told him, “Because you have
seen Me, you have D BELIEVED; blessed are those who have not seen and
yet have believed.”’ (John 20:29) According to this verse, was Thomas
surprised or did he believe? He E _______________.
Because Jesus rose from the dead: (1) With faith Thomas called Him Lord
and God; (2) Jesus will judge you (Acts 17:31); (3) Jesus is the Son of God
(Romans 1:4)
‘....these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God, and that by believing you may have F LIFE in His name.’
(John 20:30-31)
Read Romans 10:9 at the start of the lesson again. Now do you believe
that Jesus is the Son of God whom God raised up from the dead?... Have
you confessed Him as Lord? … If so, what has happened to you? I now
have F _______ and will be B __________ already!
If you are not yet sure that you have life already, you may read “Do You
Want...” in pages 4-5 and if you want, you may pray the prayer there.
Read John 5-8. Memorize Romans 10:9.

“31 Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to
them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which
of these do you stone me?" 33 "We are not stoning you for any of these,"
replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to
be D GOD."” (John 10:31-33)
4. What did Jesus’ listeners understand Him when He said that He is and His
Father are one in being greater than all? He was claiming to be D ______.
“34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you
are gods’? 35 If he called them ‘E GODS’, to whom the word of God came—
and the Scripture cannot be broken— 36 what about the one whom the
Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you
accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? 37 Do not
believe me unless I do what my Father does. 38 But if I do it, even though
you do not believe me, believe the MIRACLES, that you may know and
understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."” (John 10:34-38)
5. How did God call those to whom the word of God came and thus
represent Him? E ________.
6. What is an evidence that God set Jesus apart and sent Him (v.36-38) and
thus represent Him? Jesus does the ____________ the Father does. In
fact, He is “the exact representation of his being” (Hebrews 1:3) and “in
Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9).
Therefore, is it blasphemy to call Him the Son of God and God? ____.
“... about the Son he [God] says, "... O F GOD ....” (Hebrews 1:8)
7. How did God call His Son? F ______ (2Peter 1:1).

1 In the G BEGINNING was the Word, and the Word was with the one God,
and the Word was H GOD. 2 I HE was with the one God in the beginning. 3
Through J HIM all things were K MADE; without Him nothing was made that
has been made. 4 In Him was L LIFE…. 10 … the world was made through
him…. 12 Yet to all who M RECEIVED Him, to those who believed in His
name, He gave the right to become N CHILDREN of God— 13 children …
born of O GOD. 14 The P WORD became Q FLESH and made His dwelling
among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the only begotten, who
came from the Father, full of grace and truth…. 17 For the law was given
through Moses; grace and truth came through R JESUS CHRIST. 18 No-one
has ever seen God, but the only begotten S SON who is at the Father’s
side, has made him known.” (John 1:1-18).
8. What was the Word (John 1:1)? H ______.
What are the qualities of the Word which belong to God alone? He is:
a. ETERNAL (v.1,2; Genesis 21:33): In the G ________________ He was
already existing.
b. THE CREATOR (v.3,10; Genesis 1:1; ): He K _________ all things.
c. THE SOURCE OF LIFE (John 1:4; Genesis 2:7): In Him was L ______.
9. What words prove that the Word was not just a thought or something
spoken but a person already when all things were created (v.2-4)? The
use of the pronouns I ____ and J ______ instead of “IT”.
10.What happened to the Word (v.14)? The Word became Q __________.
11.Who is the Word? To answer this question, consider the following:
a. Who was with God (v.1-2) and is full of grace and truth that we can
expect them to come through Him (v.14)? The P _________.
b. Who was with God the Father who made Him known (v.18)? The only
begotten S ______. Through whom grace and truth came (v.17)?
Through R _________ _________.
c. Therefore, who is the Word? He is R __________ ___________, the
only begotten Son!
“...there is but one God, the Father....” In the beginning (Micah 5:2), the
Word, His Son (Proverbs 30:4) whom He called ‘God’ was already with
Him. The Word came from Him (John 8:42) but was not created by Him.
Instead, through the Word, He created all things. (1Corinthians 8:6). The
Word was made flesh and did miracles and came to be known as Jesus,
the Messiah.
He endured all of these in view of the joy (He 12:2) of seeing THE GOOD
THINGS that would happen after He defeats Satan and his demons and
after I RECEIVE HIM. Now I have received every good thing that can be
said about my spiritual condition! Everything I need to live a godly life has
been given to me already (2Pe 1:3; Ep 1:3)! God considers me as as righteous as
Christ (Ro 5:1; 2Co 5:21)!
Yes, because of what He has done and will be doing to me, I presented
my body to Him as a living sacrifice. HOW ABOUT YOU? What Christ did
for me, He did also for you. Have you trusted Him for you salvation? ... If you
haven’t done it yet, trust Him now… Have you given your body to serve Him
and others? If you have not, tell Him something like this:
“Heavenly Father, because You have given Your Son for me, I will
love You with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. Lord Jesus, My
love for my loved ones will now become hatred in comparizon to my
love for You(Lu 14:26; Mt 10:37). I will follow You. I will love others as I love
Myself. That You can use me for others’ well being, I will continue to
study to obey the Bible (Ezr 7:10), pray and join others who believe in You.
I will also seek someone to be my companion who will hold me
accountable in my walk with You. I will accept them just as you have
accepted me. I will remember that God causes all things to work
together that all of us may be more like You (Ro 8:28-29,37). Since that group
will help strengthen Christians and save souls, I will give to helping
that group one of my highest priorities. As you enable me, I will allow
You to use me to save, heal, free and restore others to You.”

Evaluation of Your Obedience to God's
Commandments
Check () the sins you have committed.
1.0 I WAS PROUD (1Peter 5:5; Proverbs 18:18):
¨ I compared myself with others (2Corinthians 10:12).
¨ I considered myself better than others (Philippians 2:3-11) that I
asserted that they do things my way or according to my standard or
was not gracious with their mistakes.
¨ I valued/honored myself more than I valued others (Romans 12:10)
¨ I envied others’ possessions, victory or popularity (James 3:16).
¨ I spoke as if I know everything that can be known about a topic
(1Corinthians 8:2): I dominated the conversation; did not listen; I
raised my voice when someone gave a different view from what I
believe.
¨ I trusted my own intelligence, money or connections to accomplish
God’s work (Philippians 3:4-6; Romans 8:8; Hosea 10:13). I acted as
if God’s work would not be accomplished without me.
¨ I got mad at the one who rebuked me (Proverbs 9:8).
¨ I participated in a debate which did not help either toward the
salvation of others or their edification. Instead, it resulted in “envy,
strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction.” (1Timothy
6:3-5)
Suggested Prayer: “God, I no longer want to boast of my abilities. I
shall now seek to honor others. I shall follow your humility. When I
want to boast, I will boast of You in my weaknesses.”
You will no longer experience separation from God (Isaiah 59:2) or death
(Romans 6:23). Instead,
“… God has given us F ETERNAL life, and this life is in His Son. He
who has the Son has life; He who does not have the Son of God does not
have life. These things I have written to you… that you may G KNOW
that you HAVE eternal life” (1John 5:11-13)
23
4. Because Christ will not leave you, what kind of life do you have?
F
______________. Do you G know you have this kind of life? ______.
That is true if you are one of Jesus’ sheep. He said,
“My sheep H LISTEN to my voice; I know them, and they I FOLLOW me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall J NEVER perish; K NO-ONE can
snatch them out of my hand. My Father ... is greater than all; K NO-ONE
can snatch them out of my Father’s hand...” (John 10:27-28). Jesus “is
ABLE to save completely those who come to God through Him….”
(Hebrews 7:25)
5. What do you do that shows that you have eternal life? I H ___________ to
Jesus’ voice and I _____________ Him. Will you ever perish in eternal fire
(Jude 1:7; Luke 16:19-31)? J __________. Who can snatch you out of the
hands of Jesus and the Father? K ____________. Is Jesus able to save
you completely if you come to God through Him (Hebrews 725)? ______.
If so, WHEN YOU DIE, WILL YOU STILL GO TO HELL? ____. “8 For it is
by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 NOT by works, so that no-one can
boast. 10 For we are … created in Christ Jesus to do GOOD works, which
God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:8-10)
6. Were you saved from sin and hell because of good works? ____. Then
why were you created? So that I can do
__________ works
WHEN JESUS COMES AGAIN, ALL OF US WHO HAVE TRUSTED HIM WILL
HAVE A NEW BODY WHICH WILL NOT PERISH, DIE NOR SIN BUT WILL BE
GLORIOUS, POWERFUL AND LIFE-GIVING. WE WILL THEN MEET THE LORD
IN THE AIR. EACH OF OUR WORK, SECRET OR NOT, WILL BE TESTED AND
OUR MOTIVES EXPOSED. GOD WILL REWARD US FOR EACH WORK DONE
WITH GOOD MOTIVE. THEN WE SHALL BE WITH HIM FOREVER.
To ensure that those who are being discipled help fulfill all righteousness,
Jesus commanded:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, B BAPTIZING them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew
28:19)
3. In making disciples of all nations, what were the first disciples instructed to
do? They were to B___________E those who are being made disciples.
36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the
eunuch said, “Look, here is water. Why shouldn’t I be baptized?” 37 Philip
said, “If you E BELIEVE with all your heart, you may.” The eunuch
answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” 38 And he gave
orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into
the water and Philip baptized him. 39 … they came up out of the water…
(Acts 8:36-39 with note)
5. What is the condition before a person is baptized? He should
E
_____________ with all his heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
6. Were you baptized when you were an infant?______. Were you baptized
in a group which teaches that Jesus is NOT the Son of God, the eternal
Word and through whom God made all things and who became a man,
died for your sins and rose from the dead?______.
If so, do you think that baptism is what Jesus wants from you?______.
When you believed that Jesus is the Son of God, what is 1 sin that you
stopped doing ? ______. Do want to be baptized? _____. Then obey him
promptly as the first disciples did (Acts 2:37-41; 8:37-38; 9:17-18).
“I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.” (Ps 119:60)

(Matthew 5:12; 2Corinthians 4:17; Mark 10:29,30).
“Lord Jesus, because You first loved me (1John 4:9), with the strength
that You give, I will continue to love You with all my mind, heart, soul and
strength more than my love for my loved ones. I shall confess You
before men. I will do these things with faithfulness, rejoicing and leaping
for joy, I will do these things even if I will encounter many pressures—
shame, beatings, insults, false accusations, hatred, confiscation of
properties, lashes or death—even from my loved ones.”
Try to determine if you have received the Holy Spirit in this way: After
Jesus ascended to heaven, they received the Holy Spirit in a different way.
“44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all
who heard the message. 45 ... the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out
even on the Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and
praising God. Then Peter said, 47 "Can anyone keep these people from
being baptised with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we
have."” (Acts 10:44-47)
Peter here was referring to their reception of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:1-4:
They ‘1 were all together in one place. 4All of them were filled with the Holy
Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.'…
Have you received the Holy Spirit in a way that you were filled with the
Holy Spirit and He controlled even your tongue?
“14 For if I pray in a G TONGUE, .... 15 ...I will pray with my spirit … I will
sing with my spirit.... 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God. Indeed, no-one understands him; he utters
mysteries with his spirit..... (1 Corinthians 14:14,15,2).
2. How can you speak in spiritual songs? In a G ____________ which no-
one understands but God alone
11"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake
instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then,
though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how
much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit...." (Luke 11:11-
13) and other “good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11).
4. Now if you ask God for the Holy Spirit so that you can speak in a tongue
by which you will be edified and kept in the love of God, what will He give?
o a demon; o the Holy Spirit. Therefore, touch your belly and expect
rivers giving life to others to flow from it (John 7:37-39). Pray:
Heavenly Father, give me the Holy Spirit now in a way that I will speak
in a new tongue with which I can edify myself and keep myself in the love of
God. Thank You that You will not give me a demon, in Jesus' name.”
Express your faith that the Holy Spirit already has given you utterance

11. Have You Experienced a Miracle?
Is this what you want to do? If so, understand what C JESUS said about it:
“12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have

1. If you have faith in Jesus, what will you do (v.12)? What he had been

3. Whom did Paul ask or command in the name of Jesus Christ? The

These two examples partly fulfills Mark 16:17-18, “17… these signs will

TO DO CHRIST’S WORK,
1. BASED ON YOUR FAITH ON WHO HE IS AND YOUR PERSONAL
RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM, CONSIDER WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN TO
GIVE GOD THE MOST GLORY.
2. THEN, ASK WHATEVER AND WHOEVER NEED TO BE ASKED TO
GIVE GOD THE MOST GLORY, AND EXPECT JESUS TO DO IT.
Then, in the name of Christ (Mark 9:38-39), you may command demons to
stop oppressing the sick (Acts 10:38 NASB) and to leave, together with the
sickness they have caused. You may even be more direct and rebuke the
sickness (Luke 4:39) -- ask it to leave in Jesus’ name. You may say,
“You (name of sickness or demon) have no more right. In the name of
Jesus, I command you to leave me (or the name of person tormented
by the demon) now!”
Then expect Jesus to remove sicknesses just as he did in Matthew 8:14-17.
... Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim’s head, …

• You also may be angry with yourself for making a wrong decision ...
Have you forgiven yourself?... You may pray this prayer, “Lord, thank
You that You still love me though I made a wrong decision!”

"If we ACONFESS our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our
sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1John 1:9)
1. According to this verse, what should you do when you commit a sin?
A
___________________ it.
What does it mean to "confess our sins"? We can answer this question
from the context of the verse above:
8
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not
in us... 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and
his word has no place in our lives. (1 John 1:8,10)
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not BSIN. (1John 2:1a)
B
2. Why did John write this part of the Bible? That I will not ___________.
When you confess your sins, you also agree with God that you should not
commit that sin again. For our example, you may pray something like this,
"Lord, I don't want to call him fool again!" or, "Lord, I forgive him!" (Matthew
6:15).
1
But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our
defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2He is the one who turns
aside God's wrath, taking away our sins, and not only ours but also the
sins of the whole world. ... (1 John 2:1b, 2 note, 12)
When you confess your sins, you may say, "...thank you that because
Jesus, the Righteous One, turned aside your wrath, taking away that
bad language I used against Bill, you have forgiven me already."
41

COMPLETE 5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to
you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we claim to have
fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the
truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
E
FELLOWSHIP with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies
us from all sin. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive
us our sins and D PURIFY us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:3-7,9).
3. What does it say will happen to you if you continue to confess your
sins, if you walk in the light (vv. 7,9)? He will forgive me my sins and

Therefore, take a few minutes and pray: "Our Father in Heaven, remind
me of any sin I have not confessed to you." Then as He reminds you of
any sin you have not yet confessed, tell Him, "... I agree that when I

Then conclude by praying, “Thank You that You have forgiven me
because Christ died on the cross for each one of my sins. Enable me
not to do them again."
REMINDER: From now on, whenever God tells you that anything you
have done is not pleasing to him, confess it immediately to him - agree with
him that it is a sin, forgiven and to be forsaken.
1. When Christ was crucified on the cross, what happened to your old self

2. Do you still have to serve sin?

3. If this is so, during those times when you do not feel it, how should you
count yourself (v.11)? G________ to sin but H___________ to God. When
you react in this way, WHAT KIND of life will you experience (v.4)?
B
_______.
For example, if the sin you repeatedly did was cursing, when you
feel like cursing, you may pray, “Thank you, Father, that I died to
and is freed from cursing already! I do not have to do it again!”
However, if you open your mouth when you are angry, you still might
curse. That you may avoid this, here’s God’s command:
Therefore do not let I SIN reign in your mortal body so that you obey
12
its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments
of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to J GOD, as those who have
been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as
instruments of righteousness. 14For SIN SHALL NOT BE YOUR
MASTER, because you are not under law, but under grace.
(Romans 6:12-14)
4. What should you do that sin will no longer be your master (v.12,13)? I
43
I
should no longer allow _____ to reign in the part of my body that is being
tempted. Instead, I should offer it to J ______.
If the sin that has reigned in you is cursing, close your mouth!
Instead, speak to bless. You may do so by praying for him. Jesus
said, “…pray for those who persecute you” and (Matthew 5:44) and
“bless those who curse you, pray for those who ill-treat you.” (Luke
6:28) You may pray audibly, “God, my mouth is yours alone. That is
why I ask that you bless (the person you wanted to curse). Let no sickness
fall on him. Give him the money he needs. Draw him closer to you.” Then, if
possible, bless him when you are with him.
“God, thank you that I am already dead to the sin of (mention that
sin). I can no longer live in it. I am freed from it already. I do not
have to obey it anymore. It shall no longer be my master.
Whatever parts of my body that were affected by it are yours
alone, your instrument/s of righteousness.”
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If so, pray it right now...
You may continue also to pray this prayer DAILY until it becomes part of
your prayer life. Jesus instructed us to pray, “… TODAY… lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ and later, “EACH DAY has
enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:11,13,34)
Utter this prayer especially when you are being tempted. “Let us then
approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 NIV) Then
yield those parts of your body being tempted as instruments of
righteousness--do something righteous with them. “… overcome evil with
good.” (Romans 12:21)
Whatever sin it was that enslaved you, it will be helpful if you continue to
read and obey the Bible. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If
you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the
truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32 NIV)
What are you to do so that you will remain in him, in his love (v.10; 1John
3:24; John 14:21; James 1:22)? J___________ his commands. To do this,
first receive another “nutrient” from the Vine—the WORD he has spoken (v.3)
—and let them remain in you (v.7; 1John 2:24). Just as Jesus obeyed the
commands (v.9) which he learned from his Father (v.15), you are also to
OBEY the commands as you hear or read the BIBLE (Romans 10:17). You
must walk as Jesus did (1John 2:6) and not keep on sinning (3:6).
How has Christ shown his love for us, that we are his friends?
I. He made O___________ to us everything he learned from the Father
(v.15). Since the Father has loved you as he has loved Jesus (17:23), you
can also expect to learn from him!
Are you learning from God daily (Isaiah 50:4)? … Are you sharing it
with others believers? …
II. He laid down his N_______ for us (v.13,14).
Are you willing to lay down your life for other believers (1John 3:16)? …
III. Christ's love is described in 1Corinthians 13. Do you rejoice with the
truth?... Are you patient?... kind?... Or do you delight in evil? keep record
of wrongs … envy?... boast?... Are you proud?... rude?... self-seeking?...
easily angered?... (1Corinthians 13:4-8)
“There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a

B. To rest and cease from doing their C _______ way, pleasure, words and

18. How to Eat Supper with the Lord
… On the first day of the Feast of A
UNLEAVENED BREAD (Matthew 26:17) … on
the NIGHT when He was betrayed …
(1Cor.11:23) “ 14 … Jesus and his apostles
reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, "I
have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with
you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat
it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of
God."
17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it
among you.” (Luke 22:14-17)
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and B BROKE it,
and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and C EAT; this is my D BODY."
(Matthew 26:26) … given for you; do this ETOWARDS MY REMEMBERING”
(Luke 22:19 literal translation)
In the same way, after the supper he took the F CUP (Luke 22:20), gave
thanks and offered it to them (Matthew 26:27), saying, "This cup is the new
covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you (Luke 22:20). Drink from

passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the J NIGHT he was betrayed, took
bread,
K
26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you PROCLAIM
L
the Lord’s death until he COMES. 27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or
drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning
against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 A man ought to M EXAMINE himself
before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats
and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment
on himself. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number
51
of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come
under judgment. 32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined
so that we will not be condemned with the world. 33 So then, my brothers,
when you come together to eat, N WAIT for each other. 34 If anyone is
hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it may not
result in judgment. … (1 Corinthians 11:26-34)
Do you want to be in a place where your friend can hear the gospel?
… Then bring him to where he can hear the Lord’s Supper… There,
you may also share your testimony of the day that God redeemed you
(Psalm 107:2)—when He brought you out of the world (‘Egypt’,
Deuteronomy 16:3).

2. He gave his _______________ for us (Matthew 26:26).
Remember that Jesus gave his body—4 But it was our pain he took,
and our diseases were put on him: while to us he seemed as one
diseased, on whom God’s punishment had come. 5 But it was for our
sins he was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took
the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are
made well. (Isaiah 53:4-5 BBE)
What is the result of partaking of the one bread? Though we are many,
we are O ______ body.
Indeed, the second reason why we should partake of the Lord’s Supper
is…
Is the church or Christian group where you are a member of not united?
Then, propose that you conduct the Lord’s supper according to what is
written here.
7 Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, just as you
are in fact UNLEAVENED. For Christ our Passover also has been
sacrificed. 8 Let us therefore celebrate the feast, not with old leaven,
nor with the leaven of P MALICE and Q WICKEDNESS, but with the
unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (1 Corinthians 5:7-8 NAS)
33So then, my brothers, when you come together to T EAT, wait for each
other. (1Corinthians 10:21; 11:20,23,33)
…. 46 And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and
breaking bread U FROM HOUSE to house, they were taking their meals
together with gladness and V SINCERITY of heart, 47 praising X GOD,
and having Y FAVOR with all the people. And ZTHE LORD was adding
to their number day by day those who were being saved. (Acts 2:41-47
NAS)
V. If we will follow Christ as the first century disciples did, concerning eating
the Lord’s Supper (1Corinthians 11:20, partaking of His table, drinking His
cup, 10:21):
JESUS WAS RICH in that He did not store up treasure for Himself, for
anyone who do so “… is not rich towards God.” (Luke 12:21; Revelation
3:17) Though He had “nowhere to lay His head” (Matthew 8:20; Luke 9:58),
He was “ready to distribute” (1Timothy 6:17-18 KJV) and “willing to share”
(NIV) to the needs of others. He just prayed and needs were met. At one
time, He fed five thousand men (Mark 6:44 Luke 9:14 John 6:10). At another
time, four thousand men (Mark 8:9). Those numbers exclude women and
children who were also fed (Matthew 14:21; 15:38) and the food had excess
(16:9,10 Mark 8:19,20).
3. Since the soldiers took Jesus’ outer garments and the one on whom the
lot fell also took the undergarment, what piece of clothing was then left of
Christ? _____________. Indeed, HE WAS SO POOR THAT HE HAD
NO GARMENT on His body!…
How will you be made rich? Even if you are in deep poverty, you can
become rich in giving like the Macedonian churches:
2
Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme
poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 for i testify that they gave as
much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their
own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this
service to the saints. 5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave
themselves first to the DLORD and then to us in keeping with God’s will.
(2Corinthians 8:1-5; Cp. the apostles—6:10)
5. So that you will be truly rich, to whom should you first give yourself (v.5)?
To the D________ and to those who teach the word of God to me.
Having given yourself to God, you also are to give to God…
Then Jesus said to them, “Give … to God what is God’s.” … (Mark 12:17)
“30 A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit
from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD. 32 The entire
tithe of the herd and flock--every tenth animal… will be holy to the LORD.”
(Leviticus 27:30,32). Be sure to set aside a E TENTH of all that your fields
produce each year. (Deuteronomy 14:22)
God said, “I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel … in return for the
F
WORK they do while serving at the Tent….” (Numbers 18:21-24) Anyone
who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his
G
INSTRUCTOR. (Galatians 6:6)
7. In giving to God, to whom should you give the tithe? To those who do the
F
_________ of God—especially my G___________________ in the word.
(1Corinthians 9:7-14).
“22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.
23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and oil, and the firstborn of your
herds and flocks in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he
will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere
the LORD your God always.” (Deuteronomy 14:22-23)
B. THE THIRD TITHE IS FOR GOD’S WORKER, THE ALIEN, THE WIDOW
AND THE ORPHAN
On the third year, the Jews are asked to give the third tithe to the Levite,
the alien, the widow and the orphan:
so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own)
and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns
may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may
bless you in all the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 14:29) 12 When you
have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the
year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless
and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied…
(26:12-13)
The following are purposes to which you can give in this way:
1. For God to indwell the hearts of those who will receive Him.
In the Old Testament, God indwells the sanctuary: "2 Tell the
Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me
from each man whose heart prompts him to give. … 8 Then have them
make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.” (Exodus
25:2,8). Now, God indwells believers: “Don’t you know that you
yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” (1
Corinthians 3:16). Thus, we are to do what we can for God to indwell
the hearts of people. One of the means is to use our earthly
possessions so that others will receive Christ and become our friends
who will receive us into their eternal habitation (Luke 16:9).
“3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even
beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with
us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. … 7 But just
as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in
complete earnestness and in your love for us— see that you also
excel in this grace of giving.” (2 Corinthians 8:3,4,7) “1 Now about the
collection for God’s people: … “…. let us do good to all people,
especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
(Galatians 6:9-10)
If you want to be rich in good works, pray and live according to the following:
Father, I will give the tithe of all my earnings to those who devote their
whole time in prayer and teaching of the Word. Beyond that, I will give
abundantly and purposefully for my personal growth and that of
others.
3. for non-believers?
a. They actively got the T __________ of all the people.
b. They broke bread, proclaiming Christ’s death (1Corinthians 11:26;
Luke 22:19).
As a result, the Lord was adding to their number daily those who were
being saved. They later grew faster (Acts 5:14; 6:1,7), that Jerusalem was
filled with the gospel (5:28). Still later, the number of churches grew daily
(16:5) that people in ALL NATIONS known to them at that time had a chance
to hear the gospel (19:8-10; Romans 1:8; Colossians 1:6).
Yes, join a LOVING CHURCH, a HOUSE OF GOD, a HOUSE OF
PRAYER FOR ALL NATIONS (Isaiah 56:7). Meet with them in a small group
they consider a HOME. Be devoted with them to PRAYER. Help them
disciple ALL NATIONS (Matthew 28:19) by helping send preferably a pair
(Luke 10:1) of those who HAVE OVERCOME SATAN (Luke 10:18-20; 1John
2:13,14) and…
1. will identify a son of peace (Luke 10:5-6).
2. will fellowship with his contacts (Luke 10:7; 1Corinthians 9:19-27).
3. will demonstrate God’s kingdom by meeting his and those contacts’ needs
(Luke 10:9a; Mark 16:17-18).
4. will preach God’s kingdom urgently (Luke 10:8,9b; Mark 16:15).
When you join a house of prayer (Ac 9:26), someone who joined it
earlier will be assigned to be your FRIEND. He will accompany you so that
every H SUPPORTING LIGAMENT that you need to I GROW in your K LOVE
and work for the Lord and for others is provided. This happens as you are
G
JOINED with him to the F WHOLE GROUP (Ephesians 4:16).
9
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their
work: 10 If one falls down, his FRIEND can help him up. But pity the man
who falls and has no one to help him up! 11 Also, if two lie down together,
they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one
may be OVERPOWERED, two can defend themselves. A cord of three
strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
If you and your friend encourage each other daily (Hebrews 3:12-13), both
of you will have a better return for your work for God. If you fall down -
commit a sin or just a mistake - speaking the truth in LOVE, he will help you
up. So that he can speak to you about any truth, it is best that he be of the
same sex or your spouse. If you cannot by yourself OVERCOME Satan, you
can do so with your friend. The warmth in his relationship with God can help
warm yours. When he is the one who needs help, it will be your turn to help.
Whenever God is with the two of you (which has become three!), you will
never be defeated by anyone! You can then start a house of prayer!

F. If you have not seen anything you can apply from what you have read,
write the reference of the passage you have READ. Look for other times
you can continue reading. If still you find no action point (as Elijah did not
hear the word of the Lord for days, 1Kings 18:1), select a verse you can
meditate on for the day (Psalm 1:1:1-3). Continue to do what you had
committed to do in the past (Psalm 76:11). Do not delay (Psalm 119:60)
nor make haste (Proverb 19:2). Be steadfast in doing what you have to
continue doing (1Corinthians 15:58).
Challenge: The Bible can help bring about changes in your life Therefore,
plan to read the whole Bible. Bring it always with you (Deuteronomy
17:19). Read it daily (Acts 17:11). Begin with the gospel of John (20:30-31),
1John (5:13) or whatever part you have not yet read. Study that which is
applicable to you. Meditate on it (Psalm 1:1-3). Memorize it (Psalm 119:9-

Now take time to praise God using the characteristics you know about Him.
You may begin by saying something like this, “Father, you are king.
Power belongs to you. That is why I give you the glory…”
3. What should you do if God is your king (Matthew 6:10)? I will do his
F
______.
4. As a child of God, what can you ask from him (Luke 11:13)? G________
gifts. What are some examples of such gifts:
In 11:3 and Matthew 6:11? H__________; In Luke 11:11? J_______;
In 11:12? K______; In 11:13? The ________ __________.
You may ask, “Have I not received the Holy Spirit already when I received
Christ?” You are right (Romans 8:9). “What does it mean then that our
Father will give the Holy Spirit to those [among his children] who ask him?” It
means He will give the Spirit in the same way that He gave to the disciples in
Acts 10:44-47 and 2:1-4 where the Holy Spirit filled them and enabled them
to speak according to the will of God (Ephesians 5:18,19; Romans 8:26). So
do not be afraid to ask the Father to do the same for you. He will not give
you a demon (Luke 11:11,12). Pray then in this manner:
“Father, give me your Holy Spirit in a way that I may know how to
speak to you and to others according to your will.”
Following Jesus, you may pray in a place alone with God (Matthew 6:6)
early in the morning (Mark 1:35) or at night (Luke 6:12). That your joy may
be full as a result of seeing answers to prayers (John 16:24; Matthew 14:23),
you may write in a daily planner each of your prayer requests on the day you
want to check if it has been answered. Here is a sample:
Now, with thanksgiving, take time to ask God for other good things that
you need (Philippians 4:6,7). You may use the form in page 62..
Read Philippians. Memorize 1John 3:22.

16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee ….18 Then Jesus came to
them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given
to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, … teaching
them to obey A EVERYTHING I have commanded you. ….”
(Matthew 28:16-20)
I. It will be the best for OTHERS if you will help teach them:
A. What changes have taken place in your life because some taught you?
_________________________________________________. Do you
want to do to others what they did to you? ______.
A. In this life. Jesus wants you to experience what the Apostle John
experienced:
1. John said, “3 It gave me C GREAT JOY to have some brothers come
and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to
walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children
are walking in the truth.” (3John 1:3-4)
2. When John learned that those he helped in their faith were
walking in the truth, what did he experience? C __________ ___.
67
Perhaps you want to shepherd some believers already, but you do not know
whom to care for. According to v.2 above, whom should you shepherd?
Those whom God has entrusted to my D ________ as his overseer. The
word translated “serving as overseers” is translated as “see to it” in the
following verse:
“See to it that no-one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root
grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” (Hebrews 12:15)
Indeed, the one entrused to your care is the one you are to help not miss
God’s grace and not get bitter and defile many
If the one you think God has entrusted to your care has not yet received
Christ, pray that you will be able to share the gospel to him. … If you do not
know how to share Christ yet, ask your discipler to show you how.
If the one you think God has entrusted to your care has received Christ,
pray that you will be able to share to him Lesson A9,10 and he will want you
to be his discipler.
68
The words “has blessed” and “blessing” come from the same root word that
means “to speak well”, the opposite of to curse as those who hate and
persecute you would: “…bless those who curse you…” (Matthew 5:44 note;
Romans 12:14).
“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of
God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly
realms,” (3:10; 1Peter 1:12; 1Corinthians 4:9)
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against
the B SPIRITUAL forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (6:12)
2. Who are in the heavenly realms? The rulers and authorities, some of
whom are our B ________________ enemies. Thus, the heavenly realms
are plces where angels are -- whether they are good or bad.
3. Check þ the correct answer. In Ephesians 1:3, what did God speak about
us? o Some good and bad things.
o everything that can be well spoken spiritually about us.
GOD HAS SPOKEN BEFORE ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL THAT CAN
BE WELL SPOKEN SPIRITUALLY ABOUT YOU!
What evil thing has anyone spoken about you? … Has anyone slandered
you? … gossipped about you? … Has anyone accused you of doing
something you have not done? … Will that change the good good things God
said about you? ____. If everything that can be well-spoken about you God
has already said, and if what others say about you are not true, to whom will
you listen to—to them or to God?
Think about this: He chose you that you can become like Jesus, though
you are like the rest—not worthy!…
Were you not treated as a true child? … Were you abused by your parent?
Ponder on this truth: You are a child of the King of kings and Lord of
lords!
Since God is your Father, as you obey Him, will He give good things that you
ask from Him (Matthew 7:7-11)? ______.
6. How much did Christ pay for you so that you can be forgiven of your sins?
His H________.
Have you committed a sin which you think may not be forgiven?
7. What did God cause to abound on us? The riches of his I __________.
Indeed, God’s grace is more than enough for you to be forgiven—no matter
how sinful you may be!
Do you feel that you have become a bad testimony? … that you have not
glorified God in your life? … Has anyone said to you, “If Christians are like
you, I don’t want to be one!”? …
“6to the K PRAISE of his glorious grace… 12in order that we, who were the
first to hope in Christ, might be for the Opraise of his glory…” (1:6,12,14)
K
9. What is his plan for you? To ___________ the glory of himself and his
grace.
God will indeed be more glorified in your life. People will praise His grace in
you. Time will come when people will tell you something like this, “Your God
is amazing! His grace is really different! Imagine, even you were changed!
Even you, He has accepted! … I want to know your God!” Just wait patiently
for this!…
“13... you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. 14who is
a deposit guaranteeing our L INHERITANCE “ (1:13-14) “that can never
perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you.” (1Peter 1:4).
Rejoice in this: you are not only going to heaven, you will also have an
inheritance there!
“2:6… God raised us up with Christ and seated M US with him… 1:20… at his
right hand in the heavenly realms 21far above all rule and authority,
power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the
present age but also in the one to come... (2:6; 1:18-23).

house.’ 6 If a MAN OF PEACE is there, your peace will rest on him; if
not, it will return to you. 7 Stay in that house, eating and drinking
whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not
move around from house to house. 8 "When you enter a town and
are welcomed, F EAT what is set before you. 9 G HEAL the sick who
are there and H TELL them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’” (Luke

26. How to Strengthen One Another in Church
Gatherings
“What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has
a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.
All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church.”
(1Corinthians 14:26).
A. hymn.
1. This is a song sung with a musical instrument” (Zodhiates) - “Take a
psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the
psaltery.” (Ps 81:2 KJV) Examples of psalms are those which are a
major division of the Old Testament (Lu 24:44), containing the
Psalms (Lu 20:42 Ac 1:20 13:33) up to Song of Solomon (Evidence
that Demands a Verdict)
2. Its content may be thanksgiving. An ancient writing used it this way:
"And the priests sung psalms of thanksgiving."
3. Although this may be sung, it may be just spoken (Ephesians 5:19)
4. This can be used in teaching or admonishing (Colossians 3:16).
5. There are different ways to come with a psalm:
a. Have at least a musical instrument ready so that if anyone would
be led to sing a song, he may be accompanied. Others may then
sing along with him.
b. Come ready to share what you would like to thank God for.
Consider the past week or the last time you were unable to attend
the meeting. Is there anything you would like to thank God for?
c. Include reading part of Psalms - Song of Solomon in your daily
Bible reading
II. LET THE ONE WHO LEADS THE MEETING ENSURE THAT ALL
76
THINGS ARE DONE FOR EDIFICATION:
A. Let each of the 2 or 3 prophets speak (1Co 14:29,31) words with his
mind (1Co 14:19) on behalf of God.
B. Let the others (who listened, which may include the other 1 or 2
prophets) pass judgment (1Co 14:29; 1Th 5:21). A true prophecy
makes evident that God is in the person speaking (1Co 14:25).
1. Let each one of them first ask himself, "Am I willing to do God's will
(Jn 7:17)? If so, is there a witness in my spirit that it is the voice of
God (Jn 10:2-5)?" Let two or three confirm (Mt 18:16) the prophecy
as from Jesus (Re 19:10).
2. Does the prophecy edify, exhort (1Co 14:3) or comfort or console
(NAS 3-5)? Does it manifest the kindness of God (Ro 2:4)?
Prophecy should immediately be stopped once it:
a. is condemning (Ro 8:1), accusing the brethren of something they
have confessed already (Re 12:10 1Jn 1:9).
b. sharply rebukes an older person (1Ti 5:1) or a ruler (Ac 23:5).
c. is publicly used to to confront someone (Mt 18:15).
3. Is the teaching faithful (Tit 1:9) and not contrary to that of the
doctrine of Christ (2John 1:3) as written in the Bible (Jn 16:13)?
4. Does the revelation stir up the faith of those who hear it (Joh 12:38)?
5. Does the person prophesied over confirm that what one who
prophesied revealed something about his heart (1Co 14:24-25,30-
31)?
6. Does the life of the one prophesying support his prophesying (Lu
6:43-45 Jer 23:10,11,14)? Or is he presumptuous (1Ki 22:24)?
7. Let no one immediately accuse one who prophesies as being a false
prophet if:
a. his prophecy is not 100% accurate. Nathan was not accurate
about David’s building a temple (2Sa 7:1-5)
b. he is not certain concerning what he heard (Je 32:8)
III. PRACTICE:
B. Have each person share briefly to the group his answer to this
question, “If God were to appear to you and you were given a privilege
to ask anything, a request or a question that will be answered, tell the
group in five words (1Co 14:19) or so, what would that be?”
77
D. Share to the group anything God may have told you during the prayer
time, such as an answer to the question that was asked or a promise
related to the request that was made.
G. Believe the prophecies that were judged to be from God (2Ch 20:20)
and act accordingly (Jn 14:21).
IV.ASSIGNMENT:
B. Based on the suggestions above, here are some questions you can ask
at the beginning of the house of prayer meeting. Pray for wisdom on
what to do, such as on what one question to ask. From the last time
you were here…
1. How did you receive Christ. (This is useful in starting a group.)
2. What would you like to thank God for? Has any of your prayers last
time been answered?
3. What is the most important lesson you learned from God? From
your experience with him? From your Bible reading?
4. What attribute of God did you understand better?
5. What character of Jesus have your seen in your life? Which one
would you like to see in your life?
6. How did God give you victory recently?
78
