Description

Where did the Book of Mormon take place? Hundreds of attempts to map the lands of the Book of Mormon have yielded hypothetical maps in settings all over the world. However, the authors of Prophecies and Promises maintain that any intellectual attempt to determine a physical geography for the Book of Mormon must be founded first within the text of the book itself and secondly upon inspired statements of its translator, the Prophet Joseph Smith. Those two criteria point to one place only—the Ohio River Valley of the United States.
