Its bedtime in the Star Wars galaxy, and Darth Vaders
parenting skills are tested anew in this delightful follow-up
to the breakout New York Times bestsellers Darth Vader
and Son and Vaders Little Princess. In this Episode, The
Sith Lord must soothe his rambunctious twins, Luke and
Leiawho are not ready to sleep and who insist on a story.
As Vader reads, the book looks in on favorite creatures,
droids, and characters, such as Yoda, R2-D2, Han Solo,
Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Admiral Ackbar, Boba Fett, and
many others as they tuck in, yawn, and settle down to
dream. As ever, Jeffrey Browns charming illustrations and
humor glow throughout, with clever rhyming text playing on
childrens book conventions to enchant adults and kids alike.
Jeffrey Brown is an Eisner Awardwinning artist and writer of
Darth Vader and Son, Vaders Little Princess, Kids Are Weird,
and numerous graphic novels and comics. He lives in Chicago.

ambling over to the piano when a song had the type of boogiewoogie beat that he relished.
After taking down the stage after each show, hed move
the piano last, playing it before an empty auditorium with
the same abandon he would before a crowd of screaming
thousands.
Stewart remained a confidant of the group while disliking
their drug use and socialite habits, preferring to visit obscure
jazz and blues clubs while touring. He continually vexed the
band by booking far-off hotels due to their access to championship golf courses, which he, a Scotsman, would avidly
play as the frustrated band found itself too far from the city to
locate groupies.
Stewart maintained old friendships and never moved from
the neighborhood he lived in before the band was formed.
I dont like rock n roll as a way of life, he said. I think its
awful. Most of the people who are living on rock n roll are
living in a dream world.
I think Stu looked on us as overpaid and overindulged,
and I suppose he was right, said Charlie Watts.
While recording Dirty Work with the Stones in 1985,
Stewart died of a massive heart attack in a doctors office
waiting room.
I always thought hed be the one to shovel the dirt on us
all, Richards said.
Hed have to load the van, pick us up, drive us home at
six in the morning. That was his life for years, and I think
it took its toll on him. I believe that devotion to the Rolling
Stoneswas the reason for his death, said Bill Wyman.
When inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the
Stones requested that Stewart be listed a member.
To me, said Richards later, the Rolling Stones is his
band. It was his vision.

Julia Warhola (ne Zavacky) was born in Mikova, Czechoslovakia, on November 17, 1892. She married Ondrej Warhola
in 1909 and immigrated to the United States in 1921. With no
TV or radio, Julia and Andy used nearly constant art-making
to cope with the poverty, isolation, and loneliness they experienced as outsiders in urban Pittsburgh.
I drew pictures so Andy made pictures when he was a
little boy. He liked to do that, sure, he made very nice pictures. Julia said. She exposed Andy to pop-culture imagery
and encouraged him to transform it. I buy him comic books.
Cut, cut, cut, nice. Cut out pictures. Oh, he liked pictures from
comic books.
Andy greatly respected his mothers creative abilities,
frequently citing her direct influence on his work. The tin
flowers she made out of those fruit tins, thats the reason why
I did my first tin-can paintings. My mother always had lots of
cans around, including the soup cans. She was a wonderful
woman and a real good and correct artist.
In his early twenties, Andy moved to New York City to try
to make it as a commercial illustrator. He had trouble finding
work, so Julia prayed for him every day and, when she could,
sent letters with a one- or five-dollar bill enclosed. In the
spring of 1952, Julia learned that Andy was nearly destitute.
She left her home in Pittsburgh to live with her son in his
squalid apartment on East 75th Street. They had to share a
bedroom, sleeping on mattresses on the floor, but with Julia
there to take care of him and the household, Andy was able to
spend long hours making art at the kitchen table.

I Knead My Mommy
And Other Poems by Kittens By Francesco Marciuliano
My Name Is
Just when we all thought things couldnt get any cuter, from
the author of the New York Times bestselling I Could Pee
on This comes I Knead My Mommy, a book of confessional
poems about the triumphs, trials, and daily discoveries of
being a kitten. From climbing walls to claiming hearts, these
little cats bare all in such instant classics as And Then You
Said No, Ode to a Lizard I Didnt Know Is Also a Pet in
This House, and I Will Save You. With adorable photos of
the poetic prodigies throughout, this volume gives readers
a glimpse into their confused and curious feline minds as
they encounter the world around them.
My name is Fuzzles
My name is Nutters
My name is Fuzzles
My name is Nutters
My name is finally Fuzzles
My name is finally Nutters
My name is a point of contention
Between two little sisters
Until their father steps in
And in the spirit of compromise
Dooms me forever
To be known as Fuzznuts

MAKES 12 MUFFINS
SERVES 4
8 eggs
DRESSING
4. When the eggs have cooled, peel off the shells. I find this easiest
to do under a little running water. Slice the eggs into -in/6-mm
rounds and set aside.
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
cup + 2 tbsp/130 g sugar
7 tbsp/100 ml extra-virgin olive oil
2. To make the dressing: Combine all the ingredients except the chives
in a blender or food processor. Blend until homogenous, transfer to
a small bowl, and fold in the chives. Set aside.
MUFFINS
5. Scoop the flesh from the avocados and transfer to a bowl with tsp
salt and the lemon juice. Using a fork or a potato masher, lightly smash
the avocados.
6. Arrange the bread on a sheet pan, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with
salt, and toast in the oven. When the bread is toasted, drizzle 1 tbsp
of dressing over each slice. Top with the smashed avocado, the more
the better, followed by 2 sliced hard-boiled eggs. Drizzle with to
1tbsp more dressing, to taste. Top with a small handful of the lettuce
and squeeze 1 lemon quarter over each.
4. Slowly pour the olive oil mixture into the egg mixtur
on low. Pause mixing and add the flour, cornmeal, ba
and cocoa nibs. Mix until just incorporated.
5. Pour the batter into the muffin cups, filling them alm
to the top. Bake for about 20 minutes, until the muffi
spring back to the touch. Please do not overbake! All
to cool for about 10 minutes.
This must be eaten the moment its made. Does not keep well.

These started out as olive oilcocoa nib muffins that were good but not great. Slowly I
began to work on them and tweak little things here and there, but they still just werent
right. I was about to throw in the towel when I thought I would try adding just a little
butter, who would know? Well, my love of butter runs deep. Real deep. So a little became
a little more, until I could no longer justify calling them olive oil muffins. So here we
have our rich Cocoa Nib Muffins. Please serve these as a fun treat at your next brunch.

This box set brings the light and dark sides of the Force
together for the first time. The Jedi Path is the ancient training manual that has educated and enlightened generations
of Jedi, including Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi,
and Luke Skywalker. They have handwritten their comments into this text, the only remaining copy in existence.
Book of Sith is a compilation of six legendary dark texts
gathered and bound together by Darth Sidious, and featuring comments from Darth Vader, Mace Windu, Darth Maul,
and others. This deluxe edition contains an exclusive portfolio with two prints, each depicting a prominent figure from
either side of the Force. With these two titles, students of
the Force can study and more fully understand the complex powers of good and evil.

This combination has been tested time and time again. You cant go wrong with dark
chocolate and burnt caramel. The intensity of the caramel and the bittersweet choco-

chill of the ice cream. I encourage you to pour the chocolate sauce tableside into the
souffl, because it creates a pool of goodness that youll find your guests delightedly

From LAIKA, the studio behind the hit films Coraline and
ParaNorman, comes The Boxtrolls, a marvel of stop-motion
animation and creative storytelling, loosely based on the
beloved childrens book Here Be Monsters. This comedic
fable takes place in a cheese-obsessed Victorian-era town
where Boxtrollslovable, cavern-dwelling oddballsare
misunderstood and face extermination. The Art of The Boxtrolls features the amazingly detailed artwork that went into
this films creation, including character sketches, puppets,
textiles, set dressing, and 3-D printed facial models, alongside the story of the films development.

todays top creative visionaries, from Ed Ruscha to Miranda
July, John Baldessari to Jonathan Lethem. Each traditional
element of a bookfrom endpapers to footnotesis
assigned to a different artist or writer invited to use the
space as a creative playground. The result is a collaborative

Rick Moodyeach contribution surprising and brilliant.
This one-of-a-kind book will entrance anyone who appreciates art, literature, and the surprising possibilities that
emerge when the two collide.

Telephone
By Mac Barnett Illustrated by Jen Corace
Its time to fly home for dinner! In this witty picture book
from award-winning and bestselling author Mac Barnett,
a mother bird gives the bird next to her a message for little
Peter. But passing messages on a telephone line isnt as
simple as it sounds. Each subsequent bird understands
Mamas message according to its own very particular hobbies. Will Peter ever get home for dinner? This uproarious
interpretation of a favorite childrens game will get everyone
giggling and is sure to lead to countless rereads.
Mac Barnett is the New York Times bestselling author of several
picture books, including Extra Yarn, which won a Caldecott Honor,
the Boston GlobeHorn Book Award, and the E. B. White ReadAloud Award. Mac lives in Berkeley, California.
Jen Corace has illustrated a number of childrens books, including
Little Pea. She lives in Providence, Rhode Island.

We must hurry and get back to the road of yellow brick before dark, he said;
and the Scarecrow agreed with him. So they kept walking until Dorothy could stand
no longer. Her eyes closed in spite of herself and she forgot where she was and fell
among the poppies, fast asleep.
What shall we do? asked the Tin Woodman.
If we leave her here she will die, said the Lion. The smell of the flowers
is killing us all. I myself can scarcely keep my eyes open, and the dog is asleep already.
It was true; Toto had fallen down beside his little mistress. But the Scarecrow
and the Tin Woodman, not being made of flesh, were not troubled by the scent of
the flowers.
Run fast, said the Scarecrow to the Lion, and get out of this deadly flower
bed as soon as you can. We will bring the little girl with us, but if you should fall
asleep you are too big to be carried.
So the Lion aroused himself and bounded forward as fast as he could go. In a
moment he was out of sight.
Let us make a chair with our hands and carry her, said the Scarecrow. So
they picked up Toto and put the dog in Dorothys lap, and then they made a chair
with their hands for the seat and their arms for the arms and carried the sleeping girl
between them through the flowers.
On and on they walked, and it seemed that the great carpet of deadly flowers
that surrounded them would never end. They followed the bend of the river, and
at last came upon their friend the Lion, lying fast asleep among the poppies. The
flowers had been too strong for the huge beast and he had given up at last, and fallen
only a short distance from the end of the poppy bed, where the sweet grass spread in
beautiful green fields before them.
We can do nothing for him, said the Tin Woodman, sadly; for he is much
too heavy to lift. We must leave him here to sleep on forever, and perhaps he will
dream that he has found courage at last.
Im sorry, said the Scarecrow. The Lion was a very good comrade for one so
cowardly. But let us go on.
They carried the sleeping girl to a pretty spot beside the river, far enough from
the poppy field to prevent her breathing any more of the poison of the flowers, and
here they laid her gently on the soft grass and waited for the fresh breeze to waken her.

Wait. Wrong way. Go back. I havent personally experienced every teacher in the world (obviously). I believe in
precision, so I must refine my statement. It is more accurate
to say that shes the best teacher as far as Im concerned.
Miss Bamford is a small woman and she is between
thirty and sixty years of age. I refuse to guess at ages.
I asked her once, in the interest of accuracy, and she
wouldnt tell me. She wears long and shapeless dresses,
so its difficult to tell what her body is like. But she is
probably thin.
The one unmistakable thing about Miss Bamford is her
lazy eye. Its her right one, and it rolls around like its

Unusual Creatures
Over the snow, the world is hushed and white. But under
the snow lies a secret world of squirrels and snow hares,
bears and bullfrogs, and many other animals making their
winter home under the snow. This beloved nonfiction picture book exploring the subnivean zone reveals the tunnels
and caves formed beneath the snow but over the ground,
where many kinds of animals live through the winter, safe
and warm, awake and busy, but hidden beneath the snow.

Jason Sacher is a writer and illustrator living in the wilds of southern Maine. He
has long been an admirer of curse words and their many uses, although he is troubled

by friends, acquaintances, and members of his household. He figures he must just
have one of those faces. You can read Jasons comics at www.picnicspirit.com.
