This article describes effective interventions and intervention programs with children and families when children have conduct issues. Each requires parental participation. If parents cannot provide the sensitive responsives, consistency, and safety that children require, then the interventions will not be effective.
Some children, especially children who have ceiling effects because of neurological issues and histories of complex unattended trauma, may not respond to interventions, even when the interventions are sound are parents participate whole-heartedly.
