time . Usually any long who of The more precise meaning The concept of entrepreneur is one
who creates his own business i.e., person who organize, operate &then bring together
manpower , material & capital required to meet that need .
The concept of
entrepreneurship is an age-old phenomenon that related to vision of entrepreneur as well as
its implementation by him entrepreneurship is a creative & innovative response to the
environment . it is also the process of setting up a new venture by the entrepreneur .
Entrepreneurship is a composite skill that is a mixture of many qualities & traits such as
imagination, risk taking, ability to harness factors of production i.e. , land. Labour, technology
& various factors.
Definition & concept of entrepreneur
Entrepreneurship has been subject of much debate & discussions. It is an elusive concept.
Hence , it is defined entrepreneur ship has been subject differently by different author . while
some coll entrepreneurship as risk bearing other view it innovating & Yet others consider it
thrill seeking . let us consider some important definitions of entrepreneurship to understand
what entrepreneurship is all about

The key to growth is foster entrepreneurial culture & play a pivotal role in deepening in the
enterprise/ organization, so that, it will contribute to the success of the enterprise.
Indian entrepreneurs will have, there fore, to draw up their futuristic vision by
way of redefining their purpose & mission& resetting their attainable objective,& development
long- term strategy against the background of emerging opportunities and impending threats
inherent in domestic & global environments on the one hand and competencies & weakness,
on the other

The entrepreneurs do not emerge spontaneously of
their own while bthe other factors of production are at least in princible hirable but enterprise
is not they have to come from different location .

Culture consists of tangible man- made objective, such as automobile, clothing, furniture.
Buildings, &tools & intangible concepts such as morals & knowledge. In addition culture
includes the values, character, qualities. And skills. Acceptable within the particular society.
Each individual has to become a unit of production
in himself & has to assume full responsibility of the assigned task with the philosophy of
producing positive results &contributing.

A large number of entrepreneus particularly in the small enterprise fail due to several

achievement motivation .the characteristics of achievement motivated persons as identified by
mcclelland .

Mental ability mental ability consists of intelligence & creatiye thinking .An
entrepreneur most be reasonably intelligence & should have creatiye thinking must be
able to engage in the analysis of various problems &situation in ordddder to deal with
them .
Clear objectives An entrepreneur should have a clear objective as to the exact nature
of the good to be produced &subsidiary to be undertaken .
Business secrecy an entrepreneur must be able to guard business secrets
.leakage of business secrets to trade competitors is a serious matter which should be
carefully guarded against by an entrepreneur .
Human relationship ability the most important personality contributing to the
success of entrepreneur are emotional stability personal relations consideration
Communication ability ; communication ability is the ability to communication
effectively . good communication also means that both the sender & the receiver
understand each other & are being understood . an entrepreneur who can effectively
communication with customers employees suppliers & creditors will be more likely to
succeed thean the entrepreneur who does not.
Technical knowledge: an entrepreneur must have a reasonable level of technical
knowledge.

3.1.7. QUALITIES OF AN ENTREPRENEUR:
A true entrepreneur besides possessing functional qualities must also possess the broad
personality which helps in developing initiative & drive to accomplish great task &face
challenges squarely.
The personal qualities that contribute to the success of an entrepreneur are as follows:

1. Motivation toward achievement : a successful entrepreneur should be a good
administrator he should know the art of getting done by other people without hurtin
their feelings or self respect.
2. Creativity: mental ablity consists of intelligence, an analytical approach &creative
thinking. An entrepreneur should have creative thinking &be able to engage in the
analysis of various problem& situation in order to deal with them .
3. Clarity: an entrepreneur should have clear objective as to the exact nature of the goods
to be produced &the subsidiarty activies to be undertaken.


Following activities for a successful entrepreneur is an underdeveloped economy:
1. Purchasing of inputs .
2. Dealing with public bureaucracy
3. Financial management.
4. Management of customer &supplier relation.
5. Gaining command over scare resources.

1. Dr. kiran mazumdar- shaw

Entrepreneur Dr kiran mazumdar-shaw. Chairman & managing director of bioon ltd. Who
became india s richest woman in 2024 (an estimated rs 2. 100 crore )=USS480 million). Was
educated at the bishop cotton girls school and mount carmel college in bangalore she founded
biocon inia with a capital of rs. 10,000 in her garage in 1978- the initial operation was to
extract an enzyme from papaya her application for loans were turned down by banks then- on
three counts biotechnology was then a new word, the company lacked assets, and (most
importantly) woman entrepreneus were still a rarity. Today. Her company is the biggest
biopharmaceutical firm in the countly in 2006, shaw caused a few page 3 ruffes after a much
hyped photograph showed her in an embrace and lip-lock with senior BJP leader Vasundhara
raje scinidia.

Ekta kapoor , creative head of balaji telefilms, is the daughter of actor jeetendra . and sister of
actor tushar kapoor. She has been synonymous with the rage of soap operas on Indian TV .

plus in 2000 ekta dominates Indian television . producting more then eight television soaps . at

3.Dr. Jatinder kaur arora
Dr. jatinder kaur arora an outstanding scientist from Punjab was conferred a national
award for her work on womens development through science and technology .Dr.Arora
perhaps the first scientist to get such an award is a doctorate in microbiology and has a
brilliant academic record .A n unlikely and fairly new contender on this list she is serying as a
joint director in the Punjab state council for science and technology at present .

.starting form scratch about 20 years ago she now exports trendy Mescos shoes owns a fleet of
state of the art helicopter &ships &an rs 450 crore steel plant .

Out of total 940.98 million people in India in the 1990s females comprise 437.10 million
representing 46.5 percent of the total population .participation of women as industrial
handicrafts handlooms &is comparatively a recent phenomenon commencing from 70s on
wards .

Toady we find women in different types industries traditional as well as non- traditional such
as engineering electronics readymade, garments, fabrics eatables, handicraft, doll making
poultry ,etc .

The basic problems or difficulty of a woman entrepreneur is that she is a woman- this pertains
to her responsibility toward family , society & work woman have been confronted by such
dilemmas they started leaving home for the work place

1.to know how many woman entrepreneur belongs from business class family or not
2. to know the types of ownership of woman entrepreneur.

3. to know the marital status &
qualification of woman entrepreneur .
4. to know the motivating foctor in establishing entrepreneur by woman entrepreneur.
5. to know wether they get co-operation from their family or not or they face any family
problem or not.

Method of data collectin is primary data collectin .

Descriptive research design is use as research design in research methodology .
Sampling:
Profitability (random) sampling is used in research methodology . as quaetionnaires are
prepared& distributed among the entire woman entrepreneur and their views on different
questions are taken through questionnaire.
