Iencourage you to store and save this document and its attachments until you have completedregistration and certification of your delegates!

Registering and certifying delegates are two different processes. In order to certify yourdelegates you will need to complete the

“Certificate of Election of Delegates to DiocesanCouncil.”

This form is attached. You may also complete it on-line atwww.council-dwtx.org, however you will still need to print it out, sign it, and send copies to the following:



1 copy to the Bishop: Bishop Jones Center, P.O. Box 6885 San Antonio, TX 78209



1 copy to the Council Registration Chair: Church of the Good Shepherd, 700 S UpperBroadway St., Corpus Christi, TX 78401-3521.



1 copy to the Diocesan Secretary: The Rev. David G. Read, 11 St. Luke’s Lane,

San Antonio, TX 78209.Certificates are due no later than February 3, 2010. In order to register your delegates andalternates, visit the council website at www.council-dwtx.org Please refer to the attached spreadsheet,

“Diocesan Council Lay Delegates for 2010”

todetermine the number of Delegates you may certify. (Please do not list clergy as delegates.)The canon governing allocation of delegates is Canon 1, Section 1(b) adopted by the 101

Council as follows:

Lay. Delegates and alternates shall be men and women communicants of the congregationwhich they represent, in good standing, sixteen years of age or older. Each congregation, in union withthe Council, shall be entitled to one delegate for every 50 persons, or portion thereof, reported forAverage Sunday Attendance in the Annual Parochial Report, except that every parish and mission shallbe entitled to at least two delegates and two alternates, and each parish shall be entitled to oneadditional delegate and alternate.
