In a world of so many looking to get for themselves that which they can, how can you tell if someone is genuinely interested in you and not just making another notch in their belt or getting a hold of other things?

The Tale of the Throne
“I thought that he was everything,” said Julianne taking her latte and heading for a pub table by the large front picture window of the shop.Beth took the chair on the opposite side of the table from her. She didnt answer. She !ust sat down and started to stir her mocha slowly and sighed. "er attention switched to the world outside of the window.“#hat happened$” asked Julianne unable to stand the silence or the suspense any more.“#hat happened$” Beth responded in a playful voice filled with a tinge of sarcasm, “#hat always happens$” she continued in a more serious tone, “%ou meet a guy and he tells you anything and pretends to be everything that he thinks that you think are important. &hey are so  patroni'ing. &hey blow so much sunshine up your skirt. &hey put on such a show to get you to do what they want.” She sighed shaking her head slightly and took another sip and looked out the window at the pedestrians as in a daydreaming da'e.“I know what you mean,” acknowledged Julianne, “&here are a lot of self(serving creeps out there who can only think of themselves and in the long run it is all about them. I think that is why )apitalism is doing so strongly. It is easy to be greedy, think of yourself, indulge immediately in self(gratification, and seek easy con*uest by doing the least for the most without any regard for what you are doing. +en are idiots and you cant blame them, it is what our society teaches them, teaches everyonepersonal gain is everything, it is a true sign of success and again, it is easy.”“"ow so$” asked Beth taking her eyes from the action outside looking a little confused about how Julianne went in this direction with the conversation.“&hings are easy to measure such as I have two houses so I am doing better than you,” *uipped Julianne, “But how do you measure the wealth and success of someone like +other &heresa$”“I see, I guess that is a tough one,” responded Beth, “I !ust wish there was a way to see if a man is really interested in you and not !ust making a score.”Julianne started to laugh a little, “-ctually, a male friend of mine gave me some advice which I have found to be useful, almost a crystal ball, a window right into how the guy feels about you.”Beth looked a bit confused and amused at the same time, “"ow, tell me.”“#hen you go over to a guys house or if he is at your house, even if it is !ust for a dinner date or a movie date, or whatever, go to the bathroom.”“#hat$”“"e knows that youre coming over. Sure he will clean the house it is all part of the sale. "owever, if you go into his bathroom and take notice of the condition of the seat if it is down all the time it shows that he is actually making a conscious effort for you. If he leaves it up and does it *uite often, you can see that he is only concerned about himself.”
