Nearly any kind of music that shows thatthere is a creative and imaginative mindbehind it, but in particular I like the musiccreated by 'Weather Report' and a lot of theclassical music from our subcontinent.
Type of Music you hate?
Nothing really. If I don't like something Ialways have the option of lowering thevolume and not buying it.
What do you think about other PakistaniArtists?
Everyone's music is pretty personal, so Ireally don't have an opinion on anyoneelse's work.
Favorite musicians (Pakistani)?
Faraz Anwar, Hussain Buksh Gullo, Gumbyand also the guys in my band because Ithink they are some of the best musicians Ihave had the good fortune to play with andto hear.
Favorite Song (Pakistani)?
I like Saagar by Fuzon, but I don't reallylisten to a lot of stuff anyways. Howeverthat is a good song, well sung, wellarranged and well recorded. It's encouragingthat quality music is finally being produced.
Music Recognition or Achievements?
Well, I think the kind of musical company Ihave kept is an achievement in itself. I haveplayed and recorded with probably the bestmusicians on the planet like Pete Lockett,Mike Mondesir and Billy Cobham. And thenof course our own local talents like Gumbyand Faraz; they are great players and artist,as good as any elsewhere. Knowing thosepeople like what one does is a bigcompliment to ones musicianship becausethese guys can virtually pick an indefinitelist of people they can easily play withanytime. As far as achievement in terms of academia, I was the 1st Pakistani in theprestigious Berklee College of Music andwhen I left Berklee I was in the Dean'sHonor Roll with a GPA of 3.42 (Pretty highfor us musician types!). Also my recordsand tours have features World Class artistsin their work. Square One features MikeMondesir on Bass, Zoe Rahmen onKeyboards, Sovra Dickson on Violin andGumby on drums. Mekaal Hasan Bandfeatures Pete Lockett on Drum and
