The ‘Wonderful’ World of Wikis
The Front page – Home of tahuna13 our class Wiki 
Rationale
Over the past two years I have used a class wikispace to inform my parentsof what is going on in Room 13, to keep them up to date with homework and to publish some of the classes writing. Using the wikispace also served tointroduce the children to the world of web 2 tools and the possibilities of being able to access material from anywhere and share it with anyone else.There are four main barriers to this being successful:1. Time – the setting up and maintaining of a wikispace is time consuming.To make it an up to date and effective wikispace reflective of good classroom practice requires dedicated time every week.2. The availability of Internet connection at home for the children and the parents.3, The permission of parents to their children’s work and photographs being displayed on the space.4. The children’s enthusiasm and respect for the rules of the wiki.

Research Question
Is a wikispace dedicated to classroom work, communication with the homeand writing an asset to a class and does it justify the extra work involved? 
Method 
I decided to survey both the children and the parents to gauge their interest and feelings about the wikispace. I would then collate the results.
Hypothesis
I believe that the wikispace serves a real purpose for the children. I think they enjoy using it, like to see their work displayed, are proud of what they do and try to produce their best work because others including their parentswill see it and comment on it.I do not think the parents use it as much as I would like and educating themto do so may take a bit more.
