EXT. ALLEYWAY -- NIGHTMILO and STELLA push their way through the bush and findthemselves standing in front of an alleyway.MILONo more shortcuts through the woods.Stella stares deep in to the alley.STELLA We can’t go this way!Stella turns around, but Milo protests.MILOWe can’t go back that way! We needto find your house!Stella grabs Milo’s hand and pulls him through the bush.EXT. STELLA’S HOUSE -- CONTINUOUS TIMESTELLA and MILO emerge from the bushes and find themselvesstanding in a suburban area. Across the street from them isStella’s house. They stop dead in their tracks, surprised.MILOWhere are we now?STELLA My house.MILOOh. How’dyou do that?Stella marches across the road. Milo follows.STELLA I didn’t do anything.MILOI think we’ve already establishedyou’re doing something. At least we’re safe now.Before Stella reaches the door, she pauses and looks at Milo.

STELLA Almost.MILOAlmost?STELLA We have to be careful. My parentsare inside.MILOAnd this is worse thanthe killerstone angel because...?Stella shifts her feet nervously.STELLA Well, I’m late. And I’m notsupposed to have boys over. Oranyone over for that matter, without asking permission and it isa school night so --MILOSo we’ll be careful.STELLA We’ll sneak in, head straight to myroom then maybe we can sit down andfigure out what’s going on here.MILOSneaky stealth mode. Got it.Stella slowly opens up her front door.INT. STELLA’S HOUSE -- CONTINUOUS TIMEFRONT HALLWAYSTELLA and MILO creep in through the front door. All thelights are off. Stella’s MOM and DAD and can be heard talkingin the living room.DAD (O.S.)No sense of responsibility.MOM (O.S.)She’s not getting any better.Stella and Milo tip toe up to the opening to the living room.

DAD (O.S.)Such a disappointment.MOM (O.S.)Not what we were expecting at all.Milo slips past the opening, but Stella peers in.LIVING ROOMStella’s parents are sitting side by side on the couch whichfaces away from the opening to the hallway. Their heads arelooking straight forward at the opposite wall.These isenough light to make out their shapes.DADHer teachers are not impressed.MOMShe’s not getting any better.FRONT HALLWAYStella steps out from behind her cover and stares into theliving room. Milo’s standing at the foot of the stairs, motioning for Stella to come to him.MILOStella.LIVING ROOMStella takes a couple tentative steps into the living room.STELLA Mom? Dad?Stella flips the light switch on the wall, but the lightsdon’t turn on. She flips it a couple more times, but stillnothing.DADThey’ll blame us of course.MOMNot what we were expecting at all.FRONT HALLWAYMilo creeps back towards the opening and motions for Stellato return.
