Fire proof paint for steel work

The fire protection rate depends on the type of fireproofing you will use (intumescent or
cementitious), the thickness of the paint, the design you will use (e.g. Underwriters Laboratories
- UL Design) inclusive the supplier of the product, and the type of element you will protect, etc.
You should contact different suppliers in order to find their charts and values. Some of those
common suppliers are carboline, Isolatek. Now -a- days intumescent is very famous for
architechtural building with expose condition. If your steel column is clad by some other material
. you can go for cementitious because cementitious is less cost compare to intumecent.
none of paints provide fireproofing for two hours. There are other materials that do - sprays (like
Armotherm/Protec Flamme) and boards (like Knauf Fireboard), but not the paint.
I'm telling this because I have investigated this issue with fire-design calculations according to
EN 1993-1-2.
find literature at www.carbonine.com, thermoguard W instrumescent, fireguard E-84 - shild
industries,. The delay is passive for 1 hour, 2 hour and so on. Besides, is too expensive.
"Intumescent paint by "Jotun" is been used across Gulf Resion for fire proofing of Structural
steel.
