2008 - 2009 Highlights
•Celebrated our 10th birthday with over 125 families at a community birthday party held atEaston Area Elementary School on September 20th•Provided case management services to 78 families including 52 new families•Saved families over $50,000 by connecting them with government programs andcommunity services•Provided 694 referrals to families at 7 different schools•Distributed 1000 oral health education packets•Provided support and assistance during 28 dental van visits•Helped 35 families apply for free or low cost health insurance•Offered parenting education to 11 families•Prepared 41 children for school through the Parent-Child Home Program•Provided extra academic support for 48 students through the 21st Century CommunityLearning Center•Distributed 450 bookbags with school supplies to students as they registered forkindergarten•Developed and launched an online community where early childhood educators andschool district staff can interact•Distributed hats, gloves, and scarves to students throughout the school district• Assembled 150 toiletry bags for families in need•Provided 2780 snacks and 2738 dinners for children at Cheston Elementary School•Helped Cheston and Paxinosa launch K-Kids Clubs with the Kiwanis Club of Easton•Donated six books to school libraries in honor of teachers and school staff•Provided swimming lessons to 48 CCLC students and 17 Parents Who Care participants• Attended 71 school meetings with parents/caregivers•Provided childcare during parent-teacher conferences for 52 children in the fall and 27children in the spring. Of these, 36 were at Cheston and 43 were at Paxinosa.•Sponsored field trips to Lafayette College and the New Victory Theatre in New York forCCLC students•Supported math and literacy nights, open houses, and kindgergarten orientations atCheston, Palmer, and Paxinosa Elementary Schools and the health fairs at Tracy, Paxinosa,and Palmer Elementary Schools•Filled two new positions - a dental assistant and Success by 6® transition coordinator•Distributed surveys to families and school staff as part of a community needs assessment•Distributed 100 holiday hope chests donated by the Volunteer Center•Held a summer arts camp with 19 students•Hosted 12 family nights or other family events
