2008 - 2009 Highlights
Celebrated our 10th birthday with over 125 families at a community birthday party held atEaston Area Elementary School on September 20thProvided case management services to 78 families including 52 new familiesSaved families over $50,000 by connecting them with government programs andcommunity servicesProvided 694 referrals to families at 7 different schoolsDistributed 1000 oral health education packetsProvided support and assistance during 28 dental van visitsHelped 35 families apply for free or low cost health insuranceOffered parenting education to 11 familiesPrepared 41 children for school through the Parent-Child Home ProgramProvided extra academic support for 48 students through the 21st Century CommunityLearning CenterDistributed 450 bookbags with school supplies to students as they registered forkindergartenDeveloped and launched an online community where early childhood educators andschool district staff can interactDistributed hats, gloves, and scarves to students throughout the school district Assembled 150 toiletry bags for families in needProvided 2780 snacks and 2738 dinners for children at Cheston Elementary SchoolHelped Cheston and Paxinosa launch K-Kids Clubs with the Kiwanis Club of EastonDonated six books to school libraries in honor of teachers and school staffProvided swimming lessons to 48 CCLC students and 17 Parents Who Care participants Attended 71 school meetings with parents/caregiversProvided childcare during parent-teacher conferences for 52 children in the fall and 27children in the spring.
