Subject: PUBLIC SCHOOL CHOICE LETTERS OF INTENT
This memo will provide an update on the number of Letters of Intent received inresponse to the Public School Choice RFP and outline the next steps of theimplementation process.
Letters of Intent Received
Monday, November 16 at 5 p.m. was the deadline for the interested applicants tosubmit a Letter of Intent for the schools designated under the Public SchoolChoice RFP. I am excited to share that we received responses from 181applicants. Please find attached a list of all the applicants grouped by thecorresponding District campus.We also received several Letters of Intent for District campuses that were notdesignated under the Public School Choice RFP for this initial school year and arenot included in the count provided above. The Office of the Superintendent willfollow-up to clarify the intent and if applicable, provide guidance on formallybecoming an Engagement School for next year. We intend to build upon thismomentum and ensure those individuals are provided support to proceed withtheir reform efforts through the appropriate and applicable processes.
Next Steps
Throughout the end of November and beginning of December, we will conveneregional Orientation Sessions. Every prospective applicant will be invited toattend one of these meetings. These meetings will cover the basic elements of theapplication process. Meetings dates and locations are posted on the Public SchoolChoice website and open to the public and sent to all schools for them to post andshare. Please find attached the schedule and locations for these OrientationSessions.
