Te east side o Ban Island is one o the world’s greatcoastlines. Te remnants o the Laurentide Icesheet is thebackdrop or this rugged mountainous spine that runs romthe Cumberland Peninsula up to Bylot Island and beyond toDevon and Ellesmere. Deep ords cut into the main Banrange where we nd glaciers spilling down to the sea. Telandscape is an artist’s paradise, and we will make time orsketching and painting with interactive workshops andlectures rom artists amiliar with Ban Island.Join us as we have a look at some o the wilder places in thisuntamed land: the sheer bird clis to the north o theCumberland Peninsula, the ocean trench paralleling IsabellaBay- home to bowhead whales, and the winding ords aboveClyde River on Ban’s northeast shoulder. We’ll skirt theshores o Bylot and Devon Islands, as we steam intoLancaster Sound toward Qausuittuq (Resolute Bay).
