Justas the word "International" implies, It is taught and danced all over the world.The International Ballroom dance style is divided into 2 main styles: Latin andStandard. There are a total of 5 different dances that fall into the International LatinStyle and 5 different dances that fall into the International Standard style. Manycouples do both styles (all 10 dances) and others choose to specialize - Meaning theychoose either the Latin or Standard style and concentrate on it solely.Here is a break down of the dances that fall into each International dance style.International Standard Style

On the other hand, theInternational Latin style is much more free and loose. During the Cha Cha or Samba,you will usually have plenty of space between you and your partner and sometimesyou will even do side by side footwork - No hold at all!
