AuthoritySC 510To ensure continuity of instruction, the Board requires professional staff members todevelop and maintain daily lesson plans.2. Delegation of ResponsibilityTo facilitate more effective instruction, lesson plans must be prepared at least three(3) days in advance. Plan books may be inspected and must conform to theguidelines established by the superintendent or designee.Teachers shall make thorough preparation for all daily lessons and shall preparewritten plans reflecting such preparation.Teachers are to provide adequate directions for substitutes; the purpose of whichshall be to continue the ongoing program or provide a meaningful educationalalternative that relates to the subject area. Three (3) days of emergency lesson plansmust be on file and/or made available to the building principal.3. Guidelines The district may require detailed plans. Each teacher is to keep a basic outline of thelessons s/he is planning to teach for three (3) school days. It is not sufficient tomerely write in the page number of the text in use. Teachers should indicate thefollowing District requirements:1. Indicate the appropriate PA State Standard(s).2. Indicate the appropriate Anchor Standard(s).3. Indicate the unit/chapter objective(s).4. Indicate the specific lesson objective(s).5. Indicate how the objective(s) will be assessed.“Indicate” shall be interpreted to mean a variety of methods including but not limitedto: posting within the classroom, written on the board, checklists, included as part of the lesson plan book, written in the lesson plan, as posters, through examples, charts,graphs, and other methods or written forms as deemed appropriate by the buildingadministration.
