Product categories: ventilation
Industries served: agricultural, commercial, horticultural, industrial, restaurant, golf
Profile: American Coolair celebrated its 85th anniversary last year. The company has manufactured
high quality, versatile and economical high velocity ventilation systems for the poultry industry since
its founding. Designed with precise engineering and quality materials, the product line requires mini-
mum maintenance and saves farmers money. Today, American Coolair supplies ventilation products in
commercial, industrial, agricultural and horticultural markets throughout the world.
Background: In 1928, a father-son team in Jacksonville, Fla., founded the company, which has grown
to become a leading manufacturer of ventilation products. What began as a small factory operation
would, within the next few decades, flourish with the help of manufacturers representatives and
salesmen. Sales and markets for American Coolair fan systems increased rapidly.
Harry Graves Sr. was the third generation of the Graves family to manage American Coolair, and
the catalyst who built the company to its current status. By moving the company to a building with
110,000 sq. ft. of office and manufacturing space in the 1960s, he consolidated the business and
administration under one roof. Today, American Coolair manufactures in a modern 210,000 square
foot facility and ships around the world.
In the 1970s, American Coolairs product lines became more extensive, and the markets in which
they competed broadened to include agricultural and horticultural lines. As the company continues
to upgrade and replace manufacturing techniques and equipment, its customers continue to enjoy
extraordinary value at the best possible price.
Harry Graves Sr. secured American Coolairs future by teaching his children what he knew. Now,
Harry Jr., Robert B., and Sara have become the fourth generation leaders from the Graves family,
cementing the familys successful tradition.

PRODUCTS
American Coolair has several fan products available to meet the demanding environmental and
economic constraints of poultry producers. To provide the best service possible, American
Coolair has included many standard features on its fans. The companys designs:
Minimize radial loading by placing the drive load in the same plane as the bearings. This unique
design delivers five times the life for bearings, a fans most critical component.
Use larger drives to ensure longer belt life.
Incorporate a circular support in the hub that increases blade assembly rigidity and decreases
the possibility of vibration.
Use an electrostatically applied thermosetting epoxy coating superior to liquid paint that
is baked on rather than air-dried.
Each fan also bears the Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA) seal,
which denotes that products have been tested and rated in conformance with AMCA test
standards and rating requirements.
Inlet Damper Remodel Kit
Inlet Damper Remodel Kit allows for the replacement of existing shut-
ters on any Coolair fan in the field with minimum effort. The damper
consists of four vertical doors, which open automatically when the fan is
in use. A nearly unobstructed path is provided for the air stream.
When the fan is not running, the damper doors close and a magnetic seal
ensures a tight closure. In addition, a foam rubber gasket on the door
frame minimizes leakage. When it is time for fan cleaning or maintenance,
the damper does not need to be removed. By opening the large damper
doors, ample access to the fan is provided.
Elliptical Damper Door Cone
The new Elliptical Damper Door Cone units maximize airflow in poultry houses without additional
construction cost. By holding the maximum width of the cone to 60 inches, the new design allows
the customer to mount the fans on five-foot center distances, while the vertical diameter of the
cone remains the standard 67-3/8 inches. The damper doors, located within the cone, open fully
when the fan is operated to provide a virtually unobstructed path for the airflow.
The 60-inch wide Elliptical Damper Door Cone is available for all American Coolair 52-inch fans, and
can be used as part of new building construction, or as retrofit replacements for fan units mounted
on five-foot center distances.
NBF60
The new NBF60 fan offers the performance and durability needed in
an agricultural building ventilator. With its 60-inch diameter die-
formed steel blades, the NBF60, using a 1.5-horsepower engine, pro-
vides 18 percent more air flow than a 52-inch fan with the same
horsepower and is 26 percent more energy efficient. It is available in
slope wall housing, with or without a discharge cone, or as an air cir-
culator. The NBF60 is also offered in 2-horsepower and 3-horsepower
three-phase models which are even more efficient.

It features the largest bearings in the industry, and, with American Coolairs captured bearing
arrangement, this allows the blade hub to serve as the driven sheave. Placing the belt load directly
over the bearings gives the greatest bearing life in the industry. The NBF60 uses a 10-gauge steel
welded angle-frame construction.
Inlet Damper
Available for all American Coolair size 48-inch and 52-inch wall fan units,
the inlet damper increases efficiency and convenience. The damper con-
sists of four vertical doors, which open automatically when the fan is
operated. When the fan is not in use, the doors seal magnetically, and a
foam rubber gasket on the door frame minimizes leakage.
American Coolairs unique damper design allows for something that
ordinary shutters and dampers dont insulation. Typically thin aluminum
shutters dont provide adequate insulation from cold air. When fitted with optional insulation, the
American Coolair damper provides an air barrier and a heat barrier without affecting the aerody-
namic performance of the fan package.
FGBCB 52 Fan Features five-year fan warranty
The fiberglass FGBCB 52 fan features American Coolairs new 11.6
inch disk and a cast aluminum blade assembly. This improved design
allows for more belt on the disk, which reduces the belt tension
needed to drive the blade assembly. This results in less bearing load
and longer motor life. The innovative drive assembly allows V-belt
power to be transmitted directly through the bearings, which results
in more economical operation and increased bearing life. The cast
blade assembly improves performance and doesnt lose performance
over time like fiberglass blades. Specially formed structural components provide for a sturdy,
yet aerodynamic support package.
NBCB 52 Fan with damper door cone unit Features five-
year fan warranty
American Coolairs improved NBCB 52 fan features a damper door
cone unit, which significantly reduces maintenance time. The discharge
doors are a sturdy and aerodynamic alternative to the common inlet
shutter. The NBCB fan has cast aluminum blades and features American
Coolairs 11.6 inch disk to increase belt life. The cast blade is ideal for
humid climates, because it resists corrosion. The auto belt tensioner
ensures continuous fan operation at full capacity.
NEFB 52 Fan
The galvanized NEFB fan, popular with international customers
because it can be shipped unassembled to minimize shipping costs,
offers the latest technology in farm-building ventilation. It features
American Coolairs new 11.6 inch disk. Allowing for more of the belt
on the disk, the larger disk results in less motor stress and longer fan
life. The fan comes in three blade sizes 36-inch, 48-inch or 52-inch.
The 52-inch blade is the newest addition to the NEF family and pro-
vides up to 10 percent more air flow than the smaller sizes.

The blade design was precisely engineered to provide better performance and efficiency. The
innovative drive assembly applies power through V-belts directly to the propeller, and blade load
is concentrated directly over the bearings. The NEF fans are equipped with totally enclosed
resilient-based, ball bearing 1/2 H.P. or 1 H.P. motors and can be operated with or without a dis-
charge cone and guard.
Open-top Evaporative Cooling System
The open-top system is easy to maintain and saves farmers
time, because, in the past, they had to remove the tops to
thoroughly clean the units. The system offers the latest evapo-
rative cooling technology to counter periods of extreme tem-
perature affecting in-house environments. It achieves its cool-
ing effect by pulling large amounts of air through water-satu-
rated evaporative cooling pads and is shipped with either
Glacier-Cor or Kuul pads.
Suited for all geographic locations, the open-top unit, used in
conjunction with fans, can reduce temperatures 10 to 25
degrees and provides the greatest economic benefit to growers in areas where temperatures
remain high for extended periods of time. The open-top design is available for both aluminum
and PVC cooling systems.
NCF Fan
The NCF fan provides efficient ventilation performance for
poultry houses, while offering significant savings to farmers. It
is available in 36-inch, 48-inch, 52-inch and 54-inch blade sizes.
In terms of cubic feet of air per minute per dollar invested,
the NCF52s additional blade span provides up to 10 percent
more air than the NCFA48. With a cone, the fan can provide
up to 20 percent more air. The NCF52 fits in the same open-
ing as the 48-inch fan, making it easy to upgrade. The high-
quality blade assembly construction assures years of quiet,
trouble-free service.

American Coolair Develops NBC 54 Fan for
Farm Buildings
New fan provides more airflow and is energy efficient
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2014) American Coolair is producing a 54-inch
version of its NBC fan for farm buildings.
The American Coolair NBC54 provides maximum airflow needed to ventilate poultry buildings.
The NBC54 features all-galvanized steel construction for the ideal blend of strength and corrosion
resistance. The sturdy cross-frame drive support design ensures years of trouble-free operation.
The NBC54 is our most energy efficient fan yet, American Coolair Sales Manager Mark Fales
said. It has been engineered to meet large volume ventilation needs while keeping energy costs at
a minimum.
The NBC54 also features American Coolairs unique captured bearing arrangement which allows
the blade hub to also serve as the driven sheave. Placing the belt load directly over the bearings
greatly extends the life of the bearings.
Founded in 1928, American Coolair Corporation is a manufacturer of ventilation and evaporative
cooling systems for the poultry, swine, dairy, greenhouse and golf industries. American Coolair

American Coolair Offers Inlet Damper Remodel Kit
Can be retrofitted to any Coolair fan
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2014) American Coolair has developed an Inlet Damper
Remodel Kit that replaces shutters with inlet damper doors.
The American Coolair Inlet Damper Remodel Kit allows for the replacement of existing
shutters on any Coolair fan in the field with minimum effort.
We can retrofit any American Coolair fan with a new inlet damper, Sales Manager
Mark Fales said. The inlet damper door makes your fan more efficient than old-fashion
shutters. In addition, keeping shutters clean is essential. The design of the inlet damper makes
maintenance much easier. The doors on the inlet damper are vertical so they do not collect
dust like shutters.
The damper consists of four vertical doors, which open automatically when the fan is in
use. A nearly unobstructed path is provided for the air stream.
When the fan is not running, the damper doors close and a magnetic seal ensures a tight
closure. In addition, a foam rubber gasket on the door frame minimizes leakage.
When it is time for fan cleaning or maintenance, the damper does not need to be removed. By
opening the large damper doors, ample access to the fan is provided.

Plasson Feeding Systems
Diversified Imports Plasson Feeding System provides optimum performance
from a broilers first day through to maturity offering maximum availability
of feed at all times. Results in some U.S. houses show that the Plasson
Feeder delivered a heavier bird with the same feed conversion.
The design of the pan, without grids, allows birds to easily reach the feed
even during the first days. The special design of the pan also prevents feed
waste when the birds are scratching.

A user-friendly system, the Plasson Feeder requires one adjustment at the starting phase to ensure
continuous feed supply at the correct level. The exclusive pan-adjustment system requires no
additional changes, making it very simple to operate. It also allows for line-height adaptation in
accordance with the birds age. Ensuring a constant flow of fresh feed, the cone design prevents
residue accumulation.
The system is easy to handle and clean. The cone can be removed from the bottom of the feeder,
allowing collection of unused feed and thorough cleaning after each flock.
Constructed of high impact plastic, the rugged feeding pans are resistant to strong detergents and
disinfectants. The steel parts are galvanized, which makes them resistant to corrosion and rust.
Plasson Nipple Drinker Systems
Plasson nipple drinker systems allow for optimum performance with flow rates ranging from 1.8
to 2.8 gallons per hour per nipple at 20 of pressure. With specific expertise for excessively hot
climates, Plasson designs nipple systems to deliver an optimal water supply that assists growers
in meeting market demands for heavy weight broilers of eight pounds or more. Every Plasson
nipple undergoes rigorous computerized quality testing. Using a simple design with only two
high-quality moving parts helps ensure a leak-proof system.
Plasson Chick Start
The Plasson Chick Start has strong and robust construction making it a long-life product. The
larger crown and sleeve allows it to hold more feed while the larger slots allow more feed on
the feeder boards. A floating or locking crown feature is also available. The chick start fits any
type of feeder pipe and is very user friendly with no small nuts or bolts to get lost. When not
in use it swings from side to side for easy storage.
Plasson Super Easy Start
The Plasson Super Easy Start will accommodate a day old turkey and supply plenty of water as
the pullets grow. The Super Easy Start offers sufficient amounts of water throughout the
growout process even through the last week of operation in the pullet house.

Diversified Imports Tunnel Shutters Help Growers
Reduce Energy Costs
EATONTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2014) Diversified Imports has designed its Tunnel
Shutters to reduce high energy costs associated with poultry houses.
The tunnel system saves on heating costs in the winter and increases the efficiency of the fans
throughout the year by improving air flow and limiting fan use.
The Tunnel Shutters are sealed by static pressure, taking advantage of the negative air
pressure found in the houses, versus fighting against it like standard doors. The air tight seal
significantly reduces leaks no matter how many fans are running inside.
The shutters are also insulated, providing an R-12 insulation value that is approximately 10
times that of curtains and double that of most doors, which lowers overall heating costs in
the houses.
We believe in this product and show our customers the savings they can realize on our
website by offering calculators for growers to compare propane gas savings among tunnel
systems, doors and curtains, said Meir Toshav, Diversified Imports President. And thats only
half the savings story. Those calculators cant take into account all of the other financial
benefits of using Tunnel Shutters.
The tunnel system also provides savings during the warmer months.
The systems improve airflow patterns and speeds, by reducing turbulence and minimizing
static pressure loss, and the cool air is directed immediately on the birds. Shutters also
provide varying airflow patterns and speed, which helps increase feed production and
performance.
Shutters eliminate dead zones at the end of the buildings that occur with doors and
curtains. Eliminating dead zones reduces the loss of birds during grow out and negates the
need for end pads. To lower energy costs during hotter months, shutters can be used as
multi-stage vent assist or tunnel transition systems to reduce the number of fans operating.
In addition, the Tunnel Shutters feature a maintenance free rack-and-pinion system with faster
opening and closing times, and they eliminate the need for end wall doghouses.

Diversified - Plasson Develops
Water on Demand System
System produces higher yielding birds
EATONTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2014) Plasson Water on Demand System from
Diversified Imports gives integrators higher yielding birds by allowing the birds to receive as
much water as they need.
With Water on Demands constant water supply, the birds increase their water
consumption which boosts their daily weight gain.
For the growers, the Water on Demand System allows them to manage column pressure in
nipple drinker lines throughout the poultry house from a single location with a centralized
pressure unit.
The unit operates by regulating incoming water pressure to adjust line pressure, thereby
managing nipple volume throughout the house. With simple precision management of
nipples, lines can be adjusted several times a day to meet peak water demand of any bird.
Another advantage of the system is drier floors, which leads to energy savings and improved
paw quality. The birds receive water more efficiently with less spillage. Drier litter reduces
energy cost because the ventilation system does not run as much. Drier litter reduces paw
disease and improves paw quality for processing.
To upgrade from Plasson pressure regulators to pressure reducers takes changing only two
components along with installation of a centralized water panel. The Water on Demand
System will retrofit to other nipple-drinker systems, by simply adding the Plasson pressure
reducers with specially made adaptors along with the control panel.

New Development
At the 2014 IPPE, Foodmate is introducing the Foodmate Total White and Dark Meat Deboning
Solutions, with a newly updated OPTI LTD - Leg, Thigh and Drumstick Deboning System; and the
launch of the new breast cap deboner, MAXIMA 1.0. The MAXIMA 1.0 is able to debone up to
2,000 breast caps per hour and produces single fillets with tenders. Final product is very well
suited for tray-packing, requiring minimum trim as well as displaying perfect presentation. Both
machines will be actively running at the companys Experience Center, where demonstrations will
be available on demand.
MAXIMA
The MAXIMA 1.0 heightens the latest technology in breast meat deboning. Foodmates MAXIMA
1.0 Breast Cap Deboner is able to debone up to 2,000 breast caps per hour and produces single
fillets with tenders. Final product is very well suited for tray-packing, requiring minimum trim as
well as displaying perfect presentation. The machine offers a solution for deboning single fillets in
an extremely simple and easy way, resulting in the highest possible yield and excellent product
presentation. The Foodmate MAXIMA series 1.0 breast cap deboning provides maximum
performance, maximum simplicity and maximum flexibility, while requiring minimum floor space,
as well as minimum maintenance and operating costs.
OPTI Whole Leg Deboner
The Foodmate (FM) OPTI LTD Whole Leg Deboner is a flexible total dark meat deboning system
that can debone whole legs, thighs or drumsticks. The Whole Leg Deboner can process both
regular and large chickens and can debone 92-100 pieces per minute. Foodmates Whole Leg
Deboner is capable of meeting all boneless leg meat specifications while providing increased yield
and higher quality of meat. The OPTI LTD Whole Leg Deboner can process both left and right legs
at the same time, with no need to separate the legs. And unlike other deboners, the OPTI LTD
does not require the operator to orient the leg in a specific way before loading it on the product
holder. The deboner removes the meat with low bone content left in the meat and leaves the pin
bone on the leg which cuts down on manual trimming. The design makes the OPTI LTD easily
accessible for cleaning and the wear and tear on parts is kept to a minimum.
OPTI Thigh Deboner
The new OPTI Thigh Deboner is developed to bring solutions to common problems found in both
manual and automated thigh deboning operations. The machines unique concept and design
produces high quality meat and yield with only a few trimmers and inspectors required. The
innovative scraper design and tendon cutting system gives the meat a hand-cut appearance and
does not shatter bones. Unlike other automated thigh deboners, the OPTI Thigh Deboner does
not require a rubber disc to clean the bone, which significantly reduces operating cost and manual
production interaction for quality product. The semi-automatic loader reduces loading labor by
two people per shift.
OPTI PLUS and OPTI PLUS XL Leg Processors
The new Foodmate OPTI PLUS and OPTI PLUS XL Leg Processors are specifically designed to
help maximize bone in and boneless dark meat yields. The machines give a high yield anatomical
cut and good meat and skin presentation. Both machines can accommodate a wide size range

while maintaining a high percentage of white knuckles and minimal bone content with minimal to
no adjustments. The OPTI PLUS XL Leg Processor is specifically designed to handle so called big
birds or large chickens. The machine is very similar in design to the OPTI PLUS Leg Processor but it
has more room inside the machine and other minor changes to accommodate a large chicken.
OPTI FH Cross-Cut Halving Machine
OPTI FH Cross-Cut Halving Machine addresses problems commonly found with single bladed front
halving machines. Using two blades instead of one large blade gives a straighter cut across the hips
and gives more control over the number of ribs that stay attached to the front half. There is no need
for a pre-cutter and it contains a simple construction with no belts and easy maintenance.
OPTI Flex Cut-Up Systems
The FM OPTI Flex Cut-Up System is a logistical cut-up solution to supply products overhead to
the desired location. Differences between the Frame Cut-Up Systems and the OPTI Flex Cut-Up
Systems include a one-touch operating system, reduced number of conveyors, open and sanitary
design and more importantly, flexibility. The efficiency improvements provided by these innovative
cut-up systems are numerous and must be explored by anyone seeking to reduce resource
consumption while increasing equipment safety and productivity.
The OPTI Flex Line is one of the markets most advanced cut-up systems; it automates whole birds
cut-up processes, delivering the cut pieces as required. Modules can be customized according to
your plants' requirements. The OPTI Flex Line is capable of processing 200+ birds per minute
out of the chiller which can distribute birds by weight and/or grade to all the necessary WOG
drops or cutting modules. It can be paired with Foodmates Weighing Transfer machine and
InVISION Camera Grading System.
Food Service Cut-Up System
The Foodmate Food Service Cut-Up System requires minimum installation time and offers superior
cutting accuracy at higher line speeds. It provides accurate cuts on up to 6,000 birds per hour. Food
Service Cut-Up systems are mostly used for food service and fast food cutting applications as well as
retail and bulk cut-up applications. It is designed to meet all 8-piece, 9-piece and dark meat cut-up
requirements. The system is versatile enough that the individual modules can be placed in different
places on the cut-up line. The stainless-steel design makes clean up easy. The Food Service Cut-Up
Frame is a self-contained, easy to install, and flexible cut-up system. Durability and practicality are
two of the main design considerations for this system. Prior to shipping, all lines are fully tested. The
modular construction allows for full flexibility which means the layout of the system can be changed
at any time. Cutting modules may be added and the length of the system can be changed.
Foodmate Compact Cut-Up
Foodmate Compact Cut-Up Systems are designed to provide both a logistical and cutting solution
allowing the cut product to be distributed throughout the processing facility. Each system is designed
according to the plant layout and cut-up needs. The systems are available in different configurations
to meet variable product mixes. Some systems are as simple as just dropping front halves and cutting
leg quarters, while other systems may have complex functionality to distribute product to different
locations in the plant, based on weight range. To minimize down time and maintenance costs, all
Foodmate Compact Cut-Up Systems are equipped with Foodmate auto-correcting Magnetic
Shackles. Line speeds can vary from 80 birds per minute on 12-inch centers to 140 birds per minute

on 8-inch centers.
Thigh Drumstick Cutter
The FM Thigh and Drumstick Cutter is a multi-purpose machine that can be used for both retail
and food service applications. It has a simple construction design that contains no rebuild points,
thus reducing cost of ownership. It gives an anatomic cut and depending on the type of cut,
various configurations are possible. Features include: Direct drive gearbox encoded to the line
speed for consistent cutting quality; a motor without a gear box to drive the cutting blade; hand
wheels in the front of the machine to allow for easily performed adjustments; and a blue
positioning wheel to provide a more hygienic appearance.
SMART Cut-Up Shackle
When people first see the NEW and innovative FM SMART Cut-Up Shackle they cannot seem to
figure out what triggers the shackle to turn, but that is exactly the pointthere is no trigger!
Instead, the SMART Shackle uses magnetic technology to turn when activated at a turning point.
Magnetic technology is not the only reason why the shackle is named the SMART shackle; an
innovative design prevents the shackle from being turned in the wrong direction when entering
the cut-up modules. The built-in, self-correcting feature allows for this incredible benefit. You have
to see this to believe it!
General
Besides poultry processing equipment, Foodmate delivers other equipment that can be used in
industrial washers (crate washers, pallet washers, and container/drum washers).

Foodmates OPTI FH Cross-Cut Halving Machine
Most Accurate on the Market
BALL GROUND, Ga. (Jan. 28, 2014) The Foodmate OPTI FH Cross-Cut Halving
Machine provides a highly efficient cross cut front half, significantly reducing the amount of tipped
keels and miscuts.
Using two blades instead of one large blade gives a straighter cut across the hips and provides
more control over the number of ribs that stay attached to the front half. With the Foodmate
Halving Machine, there is no need for a pre-cutter.
The OPTI FH Cross-Cut can run both on 12-inch and 8-inch centers, and it can process a large
variation in bird sizes without adjustment.
Its versatilility allows the machine to be installed on current line configurations or newly
constructed Frame and Flex Lines. The OPTI FH Cross-Cut provides increased dark meat yield,
does not cut into keel tip, and the cut can be adjusted to help increase leg quarter yield. Its simple
construction has no belts which simplifies maintenance.

Lohmann Animal Health International
FC3 Platinum Helps Prevent Fowl Cholera
Vaccine fights Pasteurella multocida in chickens and turkeys
WINSLOW, Maine (Jan. 28, 2014) Lohmann Animal Health International has
developed AviPro 108 FC3 Platinum to aid in the prevention of Fowl Cholera in chickens
and turkeys.
An infectious disease caused by Pasteurella multocida, Fowl Cholera can spread quickly through
a flock and cause great losses for the grower.
Lohmann Animal Health Internationals FC3 Platinum helps prevent Pasteurella multocida Type
1, 4 and 3x4. Chickens should be vaccinated between 12 and 16 weeks of age and turkeys
between 20 and 24 weeks. Each should be revaccinated four to six weeks later and during
molt. The two initial inoculations produce high levels of immunity during critical early period
of production when acute Fowl Cholera occurs. The 0.25 ml doses are labeled for IM and SQ
injection.
If Fowl Cholera is diagnosed before it spreads through a flock, it is possible to stop the spread
by immediately vaccinating healthy birds with FC3 Platinum.
Lohmann Animal Health is one of the worldwide leading manufacturers of feed additives and
poultry vaccines. With our range of products and our expertise from over 80 years of
experience we pursue the principle: Prevention first. We provide our customers with
sustainable solutions for the challenges of today and tomorrow. As a member of the PHW

AviPro Megan Vac 1 Helps Reduce Salmonella
Vaccine available in 5,000 and 10,000 dose sizes
WINSLOW, Maine. (Jan. 28, 2014) Lohmann Animal Health Internationals AviPro

Megan

Vac 1 aids in the reduction of Salmonella Typhimurium, Salmonella Enteritidis and

Salmonella Heidelberg in the organs of young growing chickens and as an aid in the reduction
of S. Enteritidis colonization of the crop and digestive tract, including the ceca.
AviPro Megan Vac 1 is a modified live Salmonella Typhimurium vaccine administered to
young poultry to stimulate the birds natural defense systems to prevent Salmonella
colonization of internal organs and transmission of Salmonella to offspring.
Vaccination takes place in the hatchery on the day of hatch and at two-weeks of age for
broilers, layers and breeders. Coarse spray and drinking water vaccination are easy, well-
established, cost-effective methods, and provide excellent coverage to the whole flock.
Whether you raise broilers, layers or breeders, the bar is raised for improving the safety of
our food supply by reducing the threat of Salmonella, Lohmann Animal Health International
CEO Dave Zacek said. The ease of mixing and applying AviPro Megan Vac 1 by coarse
spray and in the drinking water means less labor and man hours to vaccinate large numbers
of birds.
Safety studies with hatchlings show that an increased titer of AviPro Megan Vac 1 does not
cause any adverse reactions. With two stable genetic modifications, the result is a vaccine that
induces a strong immune response against S. Typhimurium, S. Enteritidis and S. Heidelberg in
vaccinated birds.

PRODUCTS
Zinteral
Zinteral provides optimized zinc for piglets, pigs and sows. It contains zinc oxide protected in a
special matrix which limits degradation by the stomach acid. By this mechanism, zinc oxide reaches
the small intestine and can exert its protective function against pathogenic micro-organisms like E.
coli as well as provide a nutritional zinc requirement. The benefits in Zinteral include less diarrhea
problems, less edema problems in the first fattening phase, no negative effects as can happen with
therapeutic zinc oxide levels, less medication with no withdrawal periods, and lower costs.
Avizant
For more than 20 years, Lohmann Animal Health has been working in the field of natural
pigments offering yellow and red coloring carotenoids and xanthophylls from different source.
Carotenoids have many physiological functions. They have been linked to oxidation-preventing
mechanisms and enhance the immune system. An intensive coloration of egg yolk, beaks and legs
are linked to high amounts of carotenoids and xanthophylls and are signaling a healthy animal. As
animals are not able to synthesize these carotenoids they must be supplied with the feed.
Avizant Yellow contains the yellow coloring xanthophyll lutein from marigold sources. The
standardized pigment concentrate is characterized by high content values, optimum bio-
availability and good stability. Avizant Red is a standardized pigment concentrate, containing the
red coloring carotenoids capsanthin and capsorubin from paprika sources.
Cuxavit
Lohmann Animal Health is offering the complete range of single vitamins including Cuxavit A,
Cuxavit D3, Cuxavit E, Cuxavit C, Cuxavit B1, Cuxavit B2, Cuxavit B6, Cuxavit B12, Cuxavit
Biotin, Cuxavit Niacin, Cuxavit D-Calpan, Cuxavit K3, Cuxavit Folic Acid, Cuxavit Choline
Chloride, and Cuxavit -Carotene.
Lovit/AviPro
Lohmann Animal Health produces an extensive range of nutritional supplements for application
through drinking water. Although modern livestock animals are usually well supplied with
vitamins and nutrients, there are situations when additional nutrients are needed for a short
period of time.
Lovit is offered in a broad range of standard formulations such as: Vitamin AD3E (+C)
combinations, Amino acid variations, combinations of minerals and electrolytes, Vitamin
B-complex LC-Energy. They are offered in flexible packing size from bottles of 250 milliliters up

Spicemaster
Spicemaster is a botanical product exclusively made of natural substances, using selected high-
quality raw materials. Garlic, fennel, basil and cinnamon as herbs or spices and essential oils
from thyme and anise were selected for this product for their numerous positive effects that
are established in humans. The combination of these herbal substances with brown algae is
unique in the market. Brown algae are known to exhibit prebiotic and anti-inflammatory effects
due to specific alginates, fucans and laminarans.
Scientific research has demonstrated that this particular composition of Spicemaster together
with its agreeable sweetish herbal taste and smell results in clear improvements in weight gain
as well as in feed conversion. Reductions of respiratory and diarrhea problems are further
achievements of adding Spicemaster to monogastric feed.
