The StarFire™ Network is the world’s firstGlobal Satellite Based Augmentation System(GSBAS) capable of real-time decimeteraccuracy. Performance is no longer a functionof your distance from a reference station,so you have the freedom to use StarFireanywhere in the world.

METHODOLOGY

The StarFire Network is a major advancefrom earlier ground based augmentationsystems because it considers each ofthe GPS satellite signal error sourcesindependently. GPS satellite orbit and clockcorrections are calculated from a globaltracking network of dual frequency receivers.These corrections are transmitted viaInmarsat satellite links direct to StarFirereceivers, resulting in minimal data latencyand worldwide operation from 75 degreesNorth to 75 degrees South. All StarFirereceivers use a dual frequency GPS receiverthat measures the ionospheric delay foreach satellite. Tropospheric zenith delaysare calculated from a multi-state timeand position model aided by redundantsatellite observables.

RELIABILITY

Redundant data links, geographicallyseparated processing hubs and dual satelliteuplink equipment ensure continuousreliable positioning. The system is inherentlyrobust with the ability to calculate a full setof corrections even if multiple referencestations were to become unavailable.
