2014 MARDI GRAS TRAFFIC CONTROL

The Fairport Harbor Mardi Gras is being held from Wednesday July 2
nd
through Sunday July 6
th
.

The High St. bridge over the Grand River, the entrance to Fairport Harbor, will still be under
construction that week and only open for one lane.

The Mardi Gras parade is Wednesday July 2
nd
and the Police Department would encourage all
parade participants to enter Fairport Harbor from Fairport Nursery Road. The Parade staging
area is entered at East and Fairport Nursery Road. The one lane of the bridge is only 10 wide
and may damage floats.

On July 2
nd
from about 7:30 PM until 11:00 PM the High St. Bridge over the Grand River will be
southbound only (out of town). NO northbound traffic (into town) will be permitted over the
bridge. Northbound traffic will be detoured up Sanford St. where they can travel Skinner Ave. to
St. Clair St. and into Fairport Harbor. Traffic coming into Fairport Harbor should plan their
route via St. Clair St. or Fairport Nursery Road. Additionally traffic southbound on East St.
beginning at New St. will NOT be permitted and will be detoured. Traffic can exit Fairport
Harbor on High St. or Fairport Nursery Road.

On July 6
th
from about 10:00 PM until Midnight (after firweworks) the High St. Bridge over the
Grand River will be southbound only (out of town). NO northbound traffic (into town) will be
permitted over the bridge. Northbound traffic will be detoured up Sanford St. where they can
travel Skinner Ave. to St. Clair St. and into Fairport Harbor. Traffic coming into Fairport Harbor
should plan their route via St. Clair St. or Fairport Nursery Road. Additionally traffic
southbound on East St. beginning at New St. will NOT be permitted and will be detoured.
Traffic can exit Fairport Harbor on High St. or Fairport Nursery Road.
