The Michigan Crime Victim Notification Net-work (MCVNN) is a statewide program CVSparticipates with to provide telephone notifica-tion to those registered. Telephone notificationswill be made in the event of an escape, dis-charge by court order or release on bond, aswell as on paroles and discharge of prisoners.Once a person is registered with CVS, they willautomatically receive telephone notifications. APersonal Identification Number (PIN) will beissued in writing to confirm any future telephonenotifications.
Restitution
Victims may register for notification regardingprobationers. A one-time notice will be providedacknowledging the receipt of registration. If theprobation is revoked and the defendant is sen-tenced to MDOC, the victim will be notified andsent a Crime Victim Notification Request form tosubmit for notices as outlined in the brochure.

Registered victims will receive a notice at least30 days prior to a parole review of a prisoner.At that time, you may choose ONE of thefollowing options:

1. You may provide a written statement bywriting a letter to the parole board.2. You may give your statement over thetelephone to a member of the parole board.3. You may give your statement by coming toLansing and speaking to a parole board mem-ber.Registered co-victims and other concernedcitizens will receive a notice at least 30 daysprior to a parole review of a prisoner. You maysubmit written correspondence to the paroleboard to express any concerns or fears youmay have.The parole board panel will review the case andmake a decision. Once a decision has beenmade, a notice will be mailed to you within 14days.

An order of restitution entered under Section 16 of the Act remains effective until it is satisfied in full.An order of restitution is a judgment and lienagainst all property of the defendant for theamount specified in the order of restitution. Thelien may be recorded as provided by law.When restitution is ordered by the court, it willautomatically be made a special condition of aprisoner’s parole.
