 Dear Fellow Cattlemen, It is not often that this kind of opportunity becomes available in the cattle business. TK Angus has de-cided to disperse their mature cow herd. These cows are the product of generations of breeding withinthe TK program. A program which is well known for actively seeking out the top herd bull prospects from top herds throughout the country and infusing these promising young sires into their cow herd tobuild cattle with growth, balanced calving ease and are built of thrive in the rough and rugged environ-ment of the Nebraska Sandhills. These foundation females have as much substance and rib shape as you will nd without preferential treatment and you will nd lots of powerful females that are fertile,efcient and are bred for soundness, ease of calving, mothering ability and growth. The beef industry’squest for improved market share lands squarely on its ability to improve quality and consistency of theend product, consistency starts with predictable genetics. In an information era the more that is knownabout the females, the greater the value.Through the years Tim Marlatt has traveled the country in search of his next highly inuential herd sireto add to his genetic base and has done so with great success. He was one of the men who believed in a bull at Connealy’s in 2001 called “DeepCanyon” who has proven to be a great maternal sire in the TK and Connealy Angus programs. His daughters have been raising sale features for both programs. The TK Angus program has built one of the greatest concentrations of Connealy Deep Canyon 454 daughters and grand-daughters in the country and these mother cows will be features throughout this sale offering. His selection of the 2006 SydGen sale, SydGen Mandate 6079 has become a breed leader for $B; the rst calf crops from “Mandate” have propelled him into the breeds elite sires and manyof the featured lots carry his service.These foundation females are mated to some of the best bulls in the business and are staged to produce their best calf yet in 2010. Rarely arewe afforded the opportunity to select from a large group of foundation cows with proven reliability, balanced maternal, growth and calving ease credentials.
