Subject: perception part 1
Perception
Part 1Hello everyone. Today's topic is on spiritual perception orrather, how we perceive things. As with all things we study we need to be diligent in makingsure that we abide by what we're seeing in scripture and relyonly on Scripture to give us a definition of what it is we'retrying to find out to be the mind of Christ on any givensubject. As well, we also need to compare spiritual with spiritual, andthe Lord has given us physical examples in order to do that. So, as we see those things which are made by the thingswhich do not appear, we must humbly ask for wisdom toproperly understand what it is we are given to see and hear.
(Rom 1:19)Because
that which may be known of God
is manifest
inthem
; for God hath shewed
it
unto them.(Rom 1:20)For the
invisible things of him from the creation of the world
are
clearly seen
, being understood
 by the things that aremade
,
even
his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are withoutexcuse: (Heb 11:3)Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that
things which are seen
 were
notmade
of
things which do appear
.
And so it is with our perception. I wanted to start the studyout today with an example of what I pray is brought out inthe study. The best teachers in our vapor of life are the

examples and experiences the Lord uses to mold us into hisimage. After all, we are just pottery in the potter’s hand. I have a three year old daughter, who learned a little whileago to drink out of a regular cup instead of a “sippy” cup.One day, I gave her a glass of milk and a few minutes afterthat she spilled it on the kitchen floor. When she did this shehad already been to the point where she was comfortabledrinking with a regular cup, so my initial fleshly reaction wasto get upset with her spilling the cup when I had already toldher to be careful. This just so happened to be one of thoseexamples where the Lord chastised me on the spot, byreminding me just how He sees me in my spiritual condition. What I came to realize was, the Lord already had thisparticular event planned out from the foundation of theworld. Not only that, but I was given a whole differentperception on exactly what just happened. I was just giventhe eyes to see that the result of my daughter’s spilt milkwas actually completed before the actual steps that weretaken to bring that about were achieved. What I mean is, the end-game of what the Lord has plannedfor us all has already been determined as well as the stepsthat will bring that about, but the result came before thesteps. This is what I hope the Lord uses me to help show youin the Scriptures today, and it is all a matter of perception.
(Heb 4:3)For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As Ihave sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although
the works were finished from the foundation of the world

Eyes to See, Ears to Hear
I often get asked what I'm referring to when I speak aboutbeing given the eyes to see and ears to hear. Of course this

is a scriptural phrase, and most Christians know that phrase, but they don't have a clue of what it actually means. When I was starting this study, it just dawned on me that he Ieyes are in the head. Obviously that is fairly apparent, butwhat I mean is, the eyes are connected directly to the mindand brain. So, having the same mind or being like-mindeddirectly correlates to seeing and hearing the same thing. After all, it is our brain physically that processes what it is weare seeing and hearing though what we are seeing andhearing happened first. When I ask the Lord to give me eyesto see and ears to hear what His mind is on a particulardoctrine His mind has already determined what that is. It issimply my lack of understanding, my lack of sight and mylack of hearing that keeps me from having that same mind.Let us turn to the Scripture to bear this truth out.
(Deu 29:2)And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them,
 Ye haveseen
all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt untoPharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;(Deu 29:3)The great temptations which
thine eyes have seen
, thesigns, and those great miracles:(Deu 29:4)Yet the LORD hath not given you
an heart to perceive
,and
eyes to see
, and
ears to hear
, unto this day.
I am honestly flabbergasted when the Lord is so blatantlyclear on the subject, yet it cannot be seen until He gives youeyes to see it. Here in Deuteronomy 29 verse two throughfour we have Moses speaking to Israel telling them that theyare entering into a covenant with God. This covenanthowever is not something they understand. Why? Becausethey haven't been given the eyes to see and ears and to hear“unto this day.” Did you notice in verse two Moses says “yehave seen” and in verse three, he says “thine eyes haveseen?” This is quite revealing, because in verse four, he says the
