Thinks Tanks from 12 Countries Honored forContributions to Public Debates on Free Enterpriseand Individual Liberty
 Named or the late investor and philanthropist, Sir John Templeton, the prestigious awards programs was estab-lished in 2003 by the Atlas Economic Research Foundation with unding rom the John Templeton Foundation to helpthose who are making signifcant contributions to enhancingopportunity and prosperity. The sixteen organizations recognized within the 2009program represent our continents and twelve countries –Brazil, Chile, Egypt, India, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, theRepublic o Georgia, Slovakia, South Arica, Sweden, andthe United States. Winners were selected rom more than130 applications rom 47 countries, by an independentpanel o judges. The 2009 awards grant a $10,000 prize toeach winner, and two prizes are given in eight categories.
 Atlas will host a conerence, eaturing the Templeton Freedom Award winners on November 9 & 10, 2009 at the Renaissance Mayfower Hotel in Washington D.C. Theconerence is tied to Atlas’s Freedom Dinner, a galacelebration o the 20th Anniversary o the all o the Berlin Wall. Winners o Templeton Freedom Awards will  give presentations relating to “The Moral Imperative o  Economic Freedom, and Innovations in Promoting Liberty.”

The latest statisticsput South Arica at one o the world’s highest jobless rates at 22.7%. “Jobs or the Jobless”made waves in the country, gaining a largeamount o attention in the media, public orums,and rom lawmakers.
