The geology of Camp 4 T1 tunnel consists of mixing layer of mad , sand and lime stone. The tunnel working face is very weak and unstable due to a very frail lime stone, so-called Algerian Light. Therefore, presently, excavation process has been made with 6m FRP bolt, AGF and injecting Silica resin at the face. However, the subsidence at the ceiling and foot areas does not stop and reaches 500mm at maximum a few times. In order to excavate the tunnel effectively and safely at the section considering the frail geologic and ground conditions, we reached a conclusion to apply the face injection reinforcement method(as shown below) that improves the face stability and does not loosen the ground. In this connection, the most suitable method of FIT construction should be applied.
