While you rehearse, you can also check your slides' visual impact. Toomany words or pictures can distract the audience. If you find yourself using toomuch text, try turning one slide into two or three, and then increase the fontsize.
Animate text and objects
1In slide view, display the slide that has the text or objects you want toanimate.2On the Slide Show menu, click Custom Animation, and then click the Timingtab.3Under Slide objects without animation, select the text or object you want toanimate, and then click Animate.4To start the animation by clicking the text or object, click On mouse click. To start the animation automatically, click Automatically, and then enterthe number of seconds you want to elapse between the previous animationand the current one.5Click the Effects tab. If you are animating a chart created in MicrosoftGraph, click the Chart Effects tab. For information about animating theelements of a chart, click .6Under Entry animation and sound select the options you want. For Help onan option, click the question mark and then click the option.7Repeat steps 3 through 6 for every object you want to animate. You canclick the Preview button to see how your animations work.
Tips
•A quick way to create basic animation is to select the object you want toanimate (in slide view), click the Slide Show menu, point to PresetAnimation, and then click the option you want.•To preview animations in slide view, click Animation Preview on the SlideShow menu. The animation plays in the slide miniature that appears. To replay the animation, click the slide miniature.
Ways to run a slide show
Depending on your needs, you can run a slide show three different ways. The following options are available when you click Set Up Show on the SlideShow menu.•
Presented by a speaker (full screen)
Click this option to run a full-screen presentation the most common method usually with a speaker whodirects the show. The presenter has complete control of the show and can run the showautomatically or manually, stop it to add meeting minutes or action items,and even record narration as the show progresses. You also use this modewhen you want to project a slide show on a larger screen or usepresentation conferencing.•
Browsed by an individual (window)
Click this option to run a smaller-screen presentation for example, one that is browsed by an individual overa company network. The presentation appears in a smaller window, with commands available formoving through the show and for editing, copying, and printing slides. Inthis mode, you move from slide to slide by using the scroll bar, and you canhave another program open at the same time. You can also display the Webtoolbar so you can browse through other presentations and Officedocuments.
