were created as a guidelinefor teachers implementing the Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop within their classrooms.The mission of the District 75 Literacy Team is to enhance literacy programsin all District 75 schools so that students may become lifelong readers andwriters. The District Literacy Team supports the implementation of the NewYork City Performance Standards in English Language Arts, the Departmentof Education’s Scope and Sequence K-8 as well as the Balanced LiteracyInitiative.This

were produced under theauspices of Superintendent Bonnie Brown, Deputy Superintendent GaryHecht, and Director of Curriculum and Assessment Lorraine Boyhan.Literacy Instructional Specialists who spearheaded this endeavor wereDonna Dimino, Ana Gomez, and Raizel Blau.We would like to honor the primary authors at each level:
