A) Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will support and optimise mine designs by
assisting the development of structural geological models and other geotechnical projects. This
role involves working with a mix of office and field based environments on a day roster.

Responsibilities:

Build and maintain suitable engineering models for interim and LOM open pit geotechnical design.
Assist in the coordination and execution of the Open Pit structural model management programme
Oversee the structural geology and engineering geology inputs
Maintain and promote rigourous standards of data collection
Participate in geotechnical projects
Manage the monitoring of pit wall stability
Ensure geotechnical integrity of construction, design and safety
Conduct investigations and inspections and evaluate mine plans
Provide geotechnical expertise advice to senior management
Assisting in mine planning on excavation designs
Geotechnical mapping
Identification and management of geotechnical risks and hazard planning
Stability analysis
Data collection
You will be responsible for geotechnical assessments, field surveys, report writing and
site classifications for residential construction planning. In the longer term you will be

with Australian standards and familiar with AS 2870 residential slabs & footings, footing
design, and familiarity with relevant computer softwares
Co-ordination, supervision and assisted design and reporting of geotechnical
investigations generally associated with earthworks, excavation, footings and
pavements. Geotechnical design including retaining wall, footing design and slope
stability analysis. Solid project book covering residential, commercial and industrial
developments

Reporting into the Principal Engineering Geologist you will be responsible for managing
the Geotechnical Engineering projects including liquefaction assessments, stability
assessments, cut slope design work (rock and soil) and detailed geotechnical mapping
of rock and core logging.

FIELD GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERS/ENGINEERING
GEOLOGISTS

Undertake geotechnical investigations (including drilling, test pitting, geological
mapping) in remote and challenging (yet stunning!) equatorial environments.
Transition into a mainly office based role focusing on conceptual and detailed
engineering design and investigations of geotechnical and civil mining infrastructure,
maintaining design in accordance with relevant standards, guidelines and
specifications. Typical technical services/project types include:
Desktop assessments, primarily geological / geotechnical data collection,
manipulation, interpretation, design and reporting.
Geotechnical modelling, using software such as Slope/W, Seep/W, etc., and in-house
analytical tools. In-house training of these modelling platforms and analytical tools will
be provided as required.
Complete engineering designs, reports, drawings, specifications, presentations and bill
of quantities.
Responsibilities:
site investigation experience, particularly geotechnical logging of soil and rock core.
excellent verbal and written English communication skills
strong initiative, motivation and drive toward long-term success
ability to operate autonomously and within group environments
ability to operate with lateral services and on multidisciplinary projects
energy and passion for developing and servicing world-class mining environmental
