This project studies about the market practices in the crude oil trading at MCX. Inthe first part commodity market, crude oil market, international crude oil marketsare explained. After this crude oil spot market and development phases of thecrude oil spot market which gradually leads to the establishment of futures marketis described. Then later on the crude oil futures market along with its mechanics,various players of futures market, supply value chain, global trading patterns etcare explained which is followed by the comparison of the crude oil futurescontract of MCX and NYMEX.
