INTRODUCTION
As
llustrated
in
the Preliminary
Statement
below,
he
tactual
realities
that exist
in
the
Hempstead School
District
have
come
o
be
the
perfect
storm
for
educational
disaster
for
the
students, teaching
professionals,
staff
and community.
The
weltering
winds
of
ailure
at
every
level--
grade changing
scandals,
missinggrades,
abuse
of
uthority,
retaliation,
nepotism,
deficient
leadership, disregard
for
environmental
hazards,
inappropriate terminations,
miserable
morale,
ulturally
incompetent systems
and
lack
of
trust
--continue to
blow
strongly in the
District
without
any
apparent
hope
of
elief
in
sight.
It
is
because
of
hese
concerns
acing the children
and
community
of
he
Hempstead
School
istrict
that
a
ield
of
chool
Board
andidates
emerged
o
try
to
save
an
otherwise
sinkingship.

mockery
into
which

turned,
is
plagued
by
open
and
obvious

of

disregard for
any
semblance
of
ntegrity.
