MESSAGEFROM THE
PRESIDENT
The older I get, the more I learn to appreciate this time o year ...whether it is nding the sanity in lie ater “March Madness” orseeing the aesthetically invigorating “perectscape” the Mastersprovides, the awakening mother nature provides gives us theenergy and ocus to begin the execution o winter plans ... certainlya season o hope.Freshness is also something the OTF Board and Committees look at while building programs or the upcoming year. One o the newprograms started last year, Ohio Turgrass Week, provides anopportunity or OTF members to help promote the turgrass industryin Ohio.OTF launched the inaugural Ohio Turgrass Week as an initiativeto create an awareness o the positive impact turgrass has onthe environment, while creating an opportunity to generate newrevenue streams through non-traditional means rom those whobenet rom turgrass either recreationally or at home.To promote Ohio Turgrass week last year, we asked gol coursesto participate and donate a dollar a round during the week. Thisyear Ohio Turgrass week, scheduled or May 25 – June 1, hasbroadened the scope o the target groups. OTF is asking GolCourses, Lawn Care Operators, Athletic Field Managers and vendorsto participate by selling tickets or redemptive goods or servicesoered (see detailed communication on page 4 o this issue). Not only will those who buy tickets be eligible or prizes, but theOTF member who sells the most rafe tickets will win a varietyo OTF packages including Gol Tournament registration, Conerenceand Show Registration and an annual Membership to OTF.We appreciate your support and participation in Ohio TurgrassWeek. Help spread the word about the benets o turgrass in Ohio!  Yours or Better Tur,Mark Jordan CGCS
