The voting results have

annual Best Bets contest
have been announced.
The results are tabulated
from paper ballots distrib-
uted by The Daily News via
a newspaper special section,
and from a poll conducted
on our website, newbury-
portnews.com. We received
hundreds of votes from our
readers.
Our readers select the
businesses and institutions
in some 57 categories that
they feel are the best in
the local area. In many
categories, there was stiff
competition. Many of our
winners are longtime favor-
ites and have won several
years in a row, but there are
also a few newcomers who
have quickly become popu-
