The desert climate is very dry and hot in most cases, although there are cold deserts aswell. Rainfall is very limited, as is the plant life in the area. Plants in this biome areadapted to surviving with limited water by having thick outer coverings and long leavesthat direct water toward the main trunk of the plant. Animals in this area conservewater in a variety of ways, many becoming active only at night.
