What is psuedocyesis?

 The appearance of clinical and/or subclinical signsand symptoms associated with pregnancy
 
whenthe person or animal is not pregnant.
Clinically, false pregnancy is most common inveterinary medicine (dogs and mice).
False pregnancy in humans is less common, andmay sometimes be purely psychological.
 
What are the causes?
Psychological disorder causing a women to“believe” she is pregnant.
Women who experience false pregnancy havean extremely strong desire to be pregnantand experience the process of pregnancy.
Women who have false pregnancies tend toexperience false pregnancy symptomsaround the same time that their relativesand friends are experiencing pregnancy.
Research has also linked false pregnancy tothe pituitary gland and specifically, to anunusually high level of hormones.
