Guessing Game: How Do You Feel?
Groups of 4. One student chooses an adjective from the word pool. Describe to the group when you
feel this way, but do not use the actual word. Begin your sentence with I feel this way when ____. The
other students will guess how you feel. (If they dont guess correctly after the first sentence, tell them
another sentence.)

Pairs. Student A, look at this page. Student B, look at page 50.
Read the first situation. Then role play it with your partner. When you finish, read the second situation
and role play it.

You really like your job, but youre exhausted. You worked ten hours every day this
weekand last week, too. Youre not sleeping well at night because youre always
thinking about work! You want to take a long vacation. You are having a meeting
with your boss.

Make a Decision: Weekend Plans
Whole class. First, work alone. Fill in the calendar with two fun things you plan to do on Saturday
and Sunday.
Now invite other students in the class to join in your plans. Invite one person at a time, using the
language in the charts below. Suggest activities and times to meet. Accept or decline other students
invitations. Begin your conversation with Do you want to get together this weekend? On your calendar,
