The pre-school classes at Mt. Juliet Christian Academy held a baby item donation drive to benefit the Mt. Juliet Help Center recently and gathered over 120 items for children in less fortunate families in the area. Pictured seated with the donations is Carolyn Duggan, Help Center director. Mrs. Jenny Bess Hibbett, pre-school director, said the seven classes also garnered a large amount of monetary donations. \u201cThe children were so happy to bring baby things,\u201d Mrs. Hibbett said, \u201cand we are all happy to help.\u201d

Cheryl Hephner is currently a student teacher at Stoner Creek Elementary School. She attends school at Tennessee Technological University.
Before going to school to be a teacher Cheryl was a United States Marine. She served from June 2003 to April 2007. While
Marines Cheryl was stationed with the 2nd Marine Division, Headquarters
Battalion. Cheryl also served six months in Iraq. While in Iraq, Cheryl
was in charge of vehicle and facilities requests along with billeting. Cheryl also drove a 7-ton and a dump truck for convoys. She got out of the Marines as a Corporal.
Before getting out of the Marines Cheryl started taking basic classes towards her teaching degree. She has been working hard towards getting her teaching degree and will graduate in December from Tennessee Technological
University. Cheryl decided to teach because she loves children and wants to do anything
her student teaching at Stoner Creek Elementary in Mt. Juliet, Cheryl worked in a kindergarten class and is now\ufb01 nishing her student teaching in a 3rd grade class. Cheryl was nice enough to share her experiences with the 3rd grade class on Veterans Day.
She even wore her dress blues. She shared pictures, awards, experiences, and answered any questions the children had.
MJHS Baseball Training Camp will be held Friday, December 4, at Mt. Juliet High School and the indoor baseball hitting facility. The camp will be run by Coach Mark Purvis, assistant coaches, varsity players and college players (former MJHS players). Camp will cover all fundamentals: pitching, hitting, defense, base running and game situations. Dinner will be provided. Concessions will also be open if campers would like to purchase snacks.What to bring: shorts, t-shirt, sweats, ball cap, 1 glove, 1 bat turf or tennis shoes (no cleats), sleeping bag (for overnighters), money for snacks. Make sure your name is on all items. All pickup will be at the South Side of the Main Building at 11 p.m. or 7 a.m. Parents will be given a ticket, you must have that ticket to pick up your child. Bro. Baker will turn 102 years old on August 3, 2010. Worshipers will note that Bro. Baker has tremendous communication skills to this day and wisdom and insight that\ufb02 ows from his many years, observations, and experiences in life.
