MEDM Implementation for CADIS Data Hub
in Global Asset Management Firm
Client Overview
Client is a global asset management firm that provides consulting and other financial services to
institutional and retail investor segments through a wide network of partners. The client is migrating
from legacy systems or other older products to eventually establish CADIS as a central data hub. This
includes implementing MEDM - an enterprise data management solution covering areas like FX,
Security Master, Pricing, Positions, and Reference Data.
Client was facing challenges in development, deployment and testing of applications especially
Quality Assurance during UAT phase and seamless integration of MEDM platform. They needed a
reliable technology partner with strong expertise in Enterprise data management to take ownership of
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and thereafter provide 24 X 6 IT and Operations support of MEDM
platform.
Our Solution
In view of criticality of the initiative and foreseeing likely challenges in execution, Hexaware built an
MEDM Center of Excellence (CoE). A team with relevant experience and proven skills was trained and
certified in MEDM; while also leveraging Hexawares ample experience in similar engagements to
ensure maximum efficiency. Key activities included:
Implementation - Augmenting the implementation team with experienced MEDM developers and
business analysts, UAT testing support, Documentation for Transition from the Implementation to
Support team, Bug fixing and enhancement requests with estimated effort less than 150 person
hours
Data Operations Support - Manual file uploads, Error resolution, Export monitoring, Security
merge, Fund Account Set up, Reference data management, Downstream communication (Inform
ing downstream of delays, issues in case export file is not sent, upload not received)
IT Application Support
- Incident resolution for incidents of varying complexity
- Analysis for long running and pending jobs
- Weekly maintenance and validation
- Analysis for outage/ patching/ DST change notifications
- Analysis for notifications from the market data providers
- Change request creation, update, coordination for approval
- UAT/ PROD implementation
- Database refresh planning and execution
- User queries of complex nature and major production incidents
- Requests for data validation & loading, critical file requests from downstream users
