against anti-choice, anti-women legislation that Republicans forced through the legislature
On the night of the filibuster last summer, Senator Van de Putte spoke
not for herself, but to be a voice for all of the Texans who had gathered at the Capitol when she asked, "At what point must a female senator raise her hand or her voice to be recognized over the male colleagues in the room?"
