Here is my explanation we have two blocks A and B. Block A is the career path for BGCSE or
Cambridge who have no industrial experience in their field of choice or having certificates /
diplomas in other related disciplines, such should go through Block A and acquire the basic skills
needed for that particular course and progress into other levels respectively. This is where they
learn about workshop safety, materials, measuring, engineering drawing, maths and
engineering science etc. To add into that am suggesting that Nosa Health & Safety Level 1 Basic
Certificate should be introduced at apprenticeship programs for them to acquire the necessary
knowledge concerning health and safety, this is where they learn about environment issues and
controls, record keeping, incidents reporting to mention but a few.

Block B will be for people or employees who are already into the system or holding three year
Trade B certificate who are aspiring to be qualified artisans or National Craft Certificates
holders. This is so because these are the people who are already working on the Debswana
equipment, with the technical skills and experience they should be considered for 3
rd
year to
start their program into 4
th
year. However this should not just come with ease they should
apply for an assessment and upon passing the assessment they can now enroll for the NCC
program and passing this does not guarantee a place of employment but should apply if a
vacancy exists.
