Last Monday, or a week ago, the US F-35 program suffered a big

setback when one of the fanny dandy fighters suddenly burst into
flames while the pilot was busily trying to take off from the tarmac
!he incident occurred at a Florida air force base home to se"eral

and it is e$pected to be scrapped due to "ery se"ere damage caused
by flames that possibly started from the fighter%s enormous engine
!he US military and the Lockheed manufacturer are trying their best
to gloss o"er the incident since the &o& wants to buy ',((3 of the
fighters which Lockheed has described as aircraft so ad"anced they
can knock out enemies that are still not in e$istence today
!he US e$pects to sell hundreds of the F-35s to foreign customers
with the base "ersion of the aircraft costing )*+ million ,hen all
the necessary bells and whistles ha"e been installed on these e$port
aircraft they will sell for well o"er )'++ million apiece
!he success of the F-35 program is "ery crucial to the US economy
as the US now has to import almost e"ery thing it uses, from sewing
needles, kitchen brushes, to toilet roll holders and magnetic switches
