This transcription into digital form attempts to remain true to the original edition while reformatting the text and images into a more modern and readable format that is more suitable for digital representation. The artwork within has been scanned at 600dpi and digitally manipulated for maximum readability and clarity. The text was scanned and transcribe first using OCR technology and finally by a human editor. Every attempt has been made to ensure the text reads like the original. There are some minor format changes, especially to the tables contained within, to make them more readable and easier to represent in a digital document.
Originally, I thought to transcribe a number of the ancient Fencing Masters works and to publish them commercially, making them available to scholars of the sword throughout the world. But upon reflection, "information wants to be free", these are not my intellectual property, and the comparatively minor effort that I have put into the transcription, pales when compared to the original authors efforts (considering their lack of word processors, spell checkers, printers, etc\u2026). As a result, I am releasing this work in its electronic form for scholars of the sword to use throughout the world.
