ENGLISH SYNTAX
We know that English as other languages has a strong grammatical structure
that take an essential part in the development of the communication process in
which all the people is involve to practice and modify the language in some
aspects and occasions. In this way the syntax of the English language is too
important in the formation of phrases or simply words that let people interact
with others in a right way.
In the other hand, the forms of a language deal with the internal grammatical
structure of words. The relationship between boy and boys, for example, and
the relationship between man and men would be forms of a language. Also the
function of a language refers to the purpose for which speech or writing is
being used. In speech these include: giving instructions, introducing ourselves,
making requests. In academic writing we use a range of specific functions in
order to communicate ideas clearly. These include: describing processes,
comparing or contrasting things or ideas, and classifying objects or ideas.
The constituents of the English language are a group of words or words that
functions as a single unit within a hierarchical structure, and these constituents
are mainly related with the phrase structure grammars. Also a constituent is a
word o group of words that can be divided into parts.
There are five word classes that are distinguished where we can use it to define
four of the five kinds of phrases which occur in English sentences. This word
classes are: Noun phrase, verb phrase, adjectival phrase, adverbial phrase and
prepositional phrase.
All this components play an important role in the structure and formation of
the English language and a deep and clear comprehension of its syntax and
grammar formation.
