Since the Fall of 1996, thirty-one prosecutions have proceeded against employers. Twenty-four cases resulted in convictions, 7 in acquittals or a Stayed of charges. The penalties assessed have ranged from a minimum of $1,500.00 to a maximum of $200,000.00 in fines. One individual was sentenced to serve 2 forty-five day jail terms.
