The Department's sonic wall/firewall that operates and monitors the internet within our building failed this week and caused operational issues. Superior Computer was on site just about all of Monday trying to troubleshoot the problem and ultimately determined it was a failed firewall unit. They were able to give us a temporary fix and a new firewall unit has been ordered.
On Wednesday of this week Detective Darrin Berg presented to the TRIAD group on current crime trends. Darrin spoke on thefts, burglaries, shoplifting and what senior citizens can do to protect themselves from these types of crimes. The presentation was at the Carlton County Transportation Building. TRIAD is seniors and law enforcement coming together to try to reduce the victimization of the elderly and/or seniors. The group was very involved and had a lot of questions.
