Teachers to get salary increase

Public school teachers with Salary Grade 11 may soon get higher monthly pay
equivalent to Salary Grade 15 under the proposed Public School Teachers Upgrading
Act!
Under "ouse #ill $%1% authored by &ep 'ar( )illar *+one ,istrict- +as Pi.as
/ity0- public schools teachers in the elementary and secondary levels shall be upgraded
1rom Salary Grade 11 to Salary Grade 15 while those occupying higher positions shall be
ad2usted accordingly
The bill provides that teachers receiving P13- 5$4 under Salary Grade 11 will get
P5$- 336 under Salary Grade 15

*P'A0 is much higher compared to the teachers under Salary Grade 11
A high school graduate who enters the P'A as a cadet receives a monthly salary o1

insure a reasonable standard o1 li1e 1or themselves and their 1amilies
/iting the latest study on living wage- )illar said a regular 1amily needs P456 a day
1or their daily sustenance or more than P51- 75$ per month
The P13- 5$4 monthly salary o1 a teacher is not enough to cope up with the present

country to see( better pay and wor(ing condition
,ue to the low salary- many o1 our teachers migrate to wor( not as teachers but as
domestic helpers- nannies or caregivers in other countries-! )illar said
