COALITION CHAIR
Responsible To: Coalition
Job Description:

Represent Coalition in the community
Encourage and support a culture of sharing and learning together about harm reduction;
Promote collaboration & be open to diverse opinions and points of view
Serve as liaison for Work Group(s) and Coalition
Consult with Vice-Chair and Secretary as needed
Work with members fairly and confidentially
Develop agenda with assistance from Vice-Chair and Secretary
Serve as moderator at coalition meetings
Ensure that information is up-to-date on the collaboration platform with assistance from members
Contact and coordinate with members about any Work Group responsibilities
Ensure that work plan goals are being met and that information from any Work Group(s)

Time Commitment:

Approximately 3 hours per month;
Attend 2-3 Work Group meetings/year and Coalition meetings, and major Coalition activities
One-year availability (ending May 31, 2015)

Qualifications:

Ascribe to Harm Reduction Coalition goals and values
Possess strong leadership and organizational skills
Sensitive to the challenges of sharing personal experiences of applying harm reduction practices and principles.
COALITION VICE-CHAIR
Responsible To: Coalition
Job Description:
Preside over meetings in the absence of the Chair
Assume the role of Chair in the event of the Chair's inability to complete a responsibility or term
Support the Chair and work closely with the Secretary to ensure work plan goals are met
Consult with Work Group(s) as needed
Perform other duties as needed
Work with members fairly and confidentially

Time Commitment:
Approximately 2-3 hours per month
Attend 2-3 Work Group meetings/year and Coalition meetings, and major Coalition activities
One-year availability (ending May 31, 2015)

COALITION SECRETARY
Responsible to: Coalition
Job Description:

Assist with drafting Coalition meeting agenda and distribution
Ensure that the agenda and minutes are circulated at least 2 days prior to each meeting
Notify Coalition members of upcoming meetings 2 weeks in advance
Locate and secure facilities for meetings
Take meeting minutes and distribute electronically to members within 2 weeks of meeting
Ensure that attendance is recorded at each meeting
Maintain current roster and up-to-date contact list of all members
Serve as custodian for all records and reports
Ensure membership dues are being collected, follow-up with members
Ensure any fees for conferences and events coordinated by the coalition are collected and recorded
Serve as the liaison with AIDS Committee of York Region and maintain record of funds balance
Present a record of available funds to the Coalition every quarter
Work with members fairly and confidentially

Time Commitment:
