Vuorelman Satakieli, [100% Wool; 360 yd - 330 m per 100g skein]; purple596; 1 skein. Substitute any fingering weight yarn.

1 set US #00/1.75mm double-point needles
o
~18 grams of clear glass beads size 8
o

1 beading needle, with loop of sewing thread.

1 sewing up needleGAUGE37 sts/72 rows = 4" in garter stitchPATTERN NOTESTo place beads onto knitting yarn, thread a beading needle with a fine but strongpiece of sewing thread about 3 inches long. Tie the ends of the sewing threadtogether to form a loop. Thread the knitting yarn through the loop of sewingthread. Pour loose beads into a shallow container with vertical sides. Dive thebeading needle into the beads, picking up several at a time. Move the beadsonto the knitting yarn by sliding them down the needle, over the sewing thread,and onto the knitting yarn. Slide groups of beads down the yarn quite a ways,distributing them so that they are ready to knit up.Knit firmly throughout. Place beads between stitches on odd numbered rowsonly, as indicted on the chart.
