KnowledgeTree is releasing version 3.7 of its flagship KnowledgeTree product and version 1.1of the Microsoft® Office 2007 Add-in. We are also releasing an alpha version of theKnowledgeTree Explorer CP (cross platform).Commercial customers with paid subscriptions have already received a link to downloadversion 3.7. An updated version of KnowledgeTree Explorer is also available. Although it isoptional to update this tool, it is strongly recommended that you do so when you upgrade toversion 3.7.If you have misplaced or did not receive the information on downloading version 3.7,please contact sales@knowledgetree.com.

Features that Enhance Ease of Use
Thumbnail and Instant View Functionality
KnowledgeTree now offers two types of document preview functionality that allow you to seea document before downloading it from the repository. In the list view, you can hover overthe magnifying glass icon to see a thumbnail image of the document. The thumbnail image isalso visible in the document details view. In both cases, if you click on the thumbnail image,a full document preview opens that allows you to scroll through the document. The InstantView preview allows you to view a faithful web-based representation of common documenttypes and also provides live search and zoom functionality.
Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, IIS 6 and 7 Support
Whereas the previous one-click installer only allowed installation to Apache, in version 3.7the installer now prompts for whether you want to install to Apache or to an existingMicrosoft IIS Web Server. This native support particularly benefits organization that havechosen to standardize on IIS. Windows 2008 Server is fully supported.
Setup Wizard
We’ve significantly changed the way KnowledgeTree is installed and configured for both stackand source-only installs. Our new one-click stack installer configures the underlying platformand when KnowledgeTree starts for the first time, a new web-based Setup Wizard walks youthrough the configuration of the system.If you are installing KnowledgeTree into an existing environment (i.e., not using the stack weprovide), the Setup Wizard automates the process and completely removes the need forcommand line interaction. The wizard creates the KnowledgeTree database, loads passwordsand performs dependency checks. If errors are detected, it offers suggestions on how to fixthem.
Addition to Document Properties
Document properties (metadata) are information about a document stored along with thedocument in the repository. KnowledgeTree comes with many out-of-the-box documentproperty types, to which we’ve added a date field and large rich-text free-form text fieldsthat support more than 255 characters.We’ve also added the ability to select multiple items from a list document property type. Amulti-select list is a new field type that can be chosen when customizing documentproperties.
Features that Enhance Integration
CMIS Interface
KnowledgeTree version 3.7 introduces the first iteration of our new CMIS interface which iscompliant with 0.61 of the draft specification. By using Web services and Web 2.0 interfacesto enable rich information to be shared across Internet protocols, CMIS will enable greaterinteroperability among ECM systems. Kofax Capture Release Script
Kofax Capture is a modular and open platform that collects documents and data, transformsthem into useful information, and delivers the results into databases, content managementsystems and other vital enterprise systems.The Kofax Release Script for KnowledgeTree makes it possible for customers who use KofaxCapture to bulk scan documents and have them directly uploaded into the KnowledgeTreerepository. This is done via the KnowledgeTree Hot Folders, which automatically populatesand stores the document properties and workflow details in the KnowledgeTree repository.The release script enables Kofax Capture to output documents in PDF or image format, alongwith XML files that contain document properties (or metadata).
OpenSearch Interface
OpenSearch is a collection of simple formats for the sharing of search results. OpenSearchhelps search engines and search clients communicate requests and syndicate results.KnowledgeTree now has an OpenSearch interface so that search results generated withinKnowledgeTree can be used by other applications.
Indexing of Microsoft Emails
We’ve enhanced the indexing features for Microsoft Office emails to make them more easilysearchable within the repository.
KnowledgeTree Explorer CP (Cross Platform)
KnowledgeTree Explorer CP is a cross-platform version of the popular desktop tool that allowsdrag and drop functionality to the repository. With cross-platform capabilities, users canenjoy this feature from Linux and Mac desktops. An alpha period for KnowledgeTree ExplorerCP will give customers the opportunity to test and comment on the offering.We welcome your feedback on KnowledgeTree Explorer CP. Microsoft Office Add-in Version 1.1
The Microsoft Office Add-in makes it possible to seamlessly and efficiently access MicrosoftOffice 2007 documents stored in the KnowledgeTree repository through an integrated panel.Version 1.1 includes some exciting new features, including:
