Introduction
What is the writing process ?
Writing takes time. Thats why writing is often
referred to as a process. In other words, there are
several
steps to go through before you turn in the final writing
piece.
Glimpsing the
process
Step One
Choose a topic to write

Start with activity: composing
aloud to make students become
aware of what is going on when one
writes: ( planning, asking questions,
rehearsing ways to express ideas,
assessing what they ve written,
checking grammar).

Generating
Step Two
-Brainstorming
-Using questions
-Using students questions
-Making notes
-Using visuals

Focusing
Step Three
-Discovering main ideas
-Fastwriting
-Loopwriting
-Considering: purpose, audience and form
Structuring
Step Four

**Organizational process of grouping
ideas:

-Use different headings for the ideas.
-Experimenting with arrangements:
using different formats to write.
-Make an outline: categorizing in a
brainstorm or chart.

Drafting
Step five
-The teacher gives an example on the board, and starts
writing the draft.
- Tell the students that after getting ideas and making an
outline ,
it is time to start writing ( beginning, middle and end)

- They have to remember the following guidelines:
Dont worry about writing the perfect paper
the first time.
Your goal in writing a rough draft is to develop
and support the ideas listed in your outline

Evaluating
Step six
After you write your first draft, go back over it and look for
ways to improve it in content and organization.
This step is called revision. After you revise for content and
organization, begin editing your draft for spelling, grammar,
punctuation, and sentence structure errors. Conferencing with the
teacher is very important.
