In the 1970s Parks Canada was considering establishing Canada's first marine park. This is one of the final reports to The Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, Parks Canada, Ottawa, Ontario. By Arthur A. MacKay, Director, Marine Research Associates, Deer Island, NB.

MRA investigated Deer Island, Grand Manan, and Brier Island in the Bay of Fundy and Baie D'Espoir in Newfoundland.
