==========I watched as Al pulled a few things from his bag, that had ended up on the bed. From the comfortable arm chairI speared the room a quick once over. I can see why Elliot called this a studio instead of a suite. here was asmall living room with a sectional couch that he said could open up into a bed. It shared it!s space with a smallwork area that had a desk, a lamp and an office chair. he back of the desk was against something of a glassdividing wall for the bedroom. here was a large flat panel tv that was centered with that wall so it could be turned to who wanted to see it,may they be at the couch, the desk or the bed. "peaking of the bed, it was smaller than the one we shared backhome, but I didn!t see either of us falling off of it either. At this point, I saw that Al had his things laid out andwas heading into the bathroom. For a moment I felt a little off for not helping him, but I was torn betweenhelping him, since I didn!t lay out his clothes while we were home and letting him do what he wanted to cope. Ididn!t move until I heard the water running in the shower. I figured that I should get my stuff together too, so I could use the shower after him. hat way we could leavefor the hospital as soon as possible. I thought about watching some tv until he came out since the only thing Ihad to really get was my toothbrush. here were towels in the room along with soap and I think they hadshampoo. Even if they didn!t, I didn!t pack any. I had #ust lifted the remote and was pointing it at the tv whenAlfred walked out of the bathroom. $I won!t take too long,% I told him as I stood up and dropped the remote in the chair before walking past him. Iwas #ust about out of arm!s reach, when I felt him grabbing a hold of my forearm. $I think it would be better if I went by myself this first time,% he told me. I don!t know if I heard regret in hisvoice or if I was #ust my disappoint at not being able to go with him that I was feeling, but there was nothing tomake a fuss about since it make some sense. $&k,% I said. $I!ll still take a shower,% I told him as I walked into the bathroom anyway. I didn!t rush now, butthere wasn!t much to do. I found the shampoo and rinsed my hair with it before leaving the shower. I stood inthe bathroom and dried off thinking that Al had already left for the hospital. 'ow I felt hungry and thoughtabout going downstairs to see if the hotel had some kind of cafe or restaurant. I walked out into the bedroomdrying my hair with a towel. I was about to sit down when I heard Al!s voice. $(eah, I!ll be there soon,% he said as I looked in his direction. )e removed the phone from the side of his facebefore turning it off and slipping it into his front pocket. $(ou do understand why don!t you*% he asked. $'o, I mean yes. I understand. (ou don!t have to worry,% I said as I started to look through my bag for somethingto wear. I didn!t have that many choices so I #ust pulled out a random shirt and pair of pants that my handstouched. I pulled the towel from my waist before reaching for some underwear.$&k, I!ll call and let you know,% he said. $I hope she!s doing better,% I said as I turned around to face him. $+eally,% I added on. )e nodded and I nodded
back before he turned and left the room.  An instrumental of -ingle ell +ock was playing in the background, but it was loud enough for those who had agood amount to drink to dance to. 'ot that I wouldn!t have minded being one of them, but I had been busy.he only time I got to drink something, was after a good bye toast in my room before a whole lot of naked wasgoing on. I felt in the grove and out of place at the same time. It was now twelve seventeen and I needed a break. I saw my latest client downstairs and to the front door. $I!ll try to attend your going away party Edward, but in case I don!t, I!m glad to have met you, and here!s ane/tra fifty to stow away for a rainy day,% he said as he pressed three bills into my hand. +ick was one of my nicerclients. If he wasn!t si/ty nine and needed a cane to get around, I might have thought more fondly of him, butas it stood, he was my sweet horny grandfather type client. I smiled and hugged him for the gift. I was going tomiss seeing him. 'ot so much the se/ since 0uke was better, but as a person he wasn!t bad to spend some timewith. $hanks +ick,% I said as I pulled away and pocketed the money before someone saw it. It was ok to receive, butnot flaunt. &ne of the many rules from iffany that I won!t miss. )e clapped me on the back of my neck and #ustheld me for a bit with an almost sad smile on his face. $If only I was twenty years younger,% he commented. 1e both chuckled and smiled before he slowly made hisway down the steps and over to a man holding open the door to his car. &nce he was in, the man walkedaround to the driver!s side and got in to drive the )onorable +ichard ). 2organ home. I quickly closed the doorto get away from the cold and walked back to where the people were. As I neared the stairs a girl walked pastme with a full tray of h!orderves. I pulled it out of her hands and kept her from getting it back as I walked up thestairs and to my room for that break that I need. I was about to duck into my room when I saw -ake walking out his latest client. I waved at him to get hisattention then waved him over before going into my room and closing my door. I was sitting in bed with theplatter before me on the covers, with a glass of water in my left hand when -ake walked in with some morefood in a bowl and a bottle of something which I knew I was going to en#oy. -ake placed the bowl on the bed ne/t to me as he walked around looking for another glass to use. )e found oneon the dresser and smelled it before pouring himself something to drink. I looked into the bowl as he made hisway back to me. $uffalo wings* hey had buffalo wings*% I asked as I reached for one. $(ou would know if you stayed downstairs for longer than a head nod,% -ake answered as I saw his hand enterthe bowl. I looked up and watched him walk towards a chair with the wing in his mouth. )e pulled it over to theside of my bed and placed his glass on the floor. A second later I saw and felt him as he switched my glass forthe actual bottle of wine. !hanks,% I told him before taking a swing. $And for your information I was downstairs for longer than a headnod,% I added on.
